Intive office – space for personality in Wrocław, Poland by MIXD

Tuesday, January 21st, 2020

Article source: MIXD

MIXD specializes in hotel design, which is why the design of the Intive office in Wroclaw is based on concept of hospitality. This includes accepting a man as he is. Hospitality is a mixture containing empathy, respect for individualism, fun and sharing experiences. Such an office raises positive emotions, strengthens relationships between people, creates a good work environment.

“People are the center of our company. Without them, we would only have empty chairs in our offices, and the products we create would not have users. \”- these are the words of Ludovic Gaude, the founder of intive. It is not surprising that for this investor more important than the design \”fireworks\” was the well-being of employees, creating a space to implement their passion and expressing personality.

MIXD designers focused on a diverse, flexible space, but also with a powerful “cool factor”, allowing young programmers to identify with this place. They also enlarged and opened up the maximum of shared office spaces to give numerous teams the opportunity to meet, talk, get to know each other better, and spend time together. After all, it is known for a long time that the best parties are happening in the kitchen… Finally, they invited a group of intive employees to take part in Culture Club® workshops, allowing them to share their ideas for organizing the office. The creation of the concept took MIXD only about 3 months – the work was carried out very quickly, in stages of 2-3 weeks. This way of working is the Design Cycles® method used by MIXD – a design process divided into three parts. Later, as a design manager, MIXD designer supervised the entire process of equipment and assembly – floors, ceilings, lighting, murals, fixed and movable furniture.

Maison De Terrace in Changwon, South Korea by Samhyun Urban & Architecture

Monday, January 20th, 2020

Article source: Samhyun Urban & Architecture

Relationship

Changwon, where Maison De Terrace is located, as a well-outlined planned city, is a city where the manufacturing area and residential area, as well as the commercial area and the park are thoroughly separated Kim Jin-baek, the president of Kilmin Engineering&Construction, commissioned Samhyun to plan Maison De Terrace, and Kilmin as well, worked together with Samhyun as a constructor a long time ago. A fact that was discovered as the work began in earnest was that, before establishing a relationship with Samhyun, they had made design requests to many design offices, received various designs and had only been reviewing them for several months. This time, Kilmin Construction meets Samhyun as an owner, which becomes an opportunity for the work to rapidly progress. Samhyun submitted the design plan, proceeded with the contract the following week, and reached the stage of selling three months later. As if Samhyun already knew the direction the owner wanted to pursue, the proposal was immediately accepted, and a consensus with the owner was naturally formed.

L264 Office in Barcelona, Spain by FFWD ARQUITECTES

Friday, January 17th, 2020

Article source: FFWD ARQUITECTES

The space for the FFWD Arquitectes new office is located in a singular building at Barcelona’s Eixample. It is an industrial building that was originally intended for workshops, and where we currently find a wide range of spaces and uses such as studios, workshops and showrooms. The building has a regular structure of columns and the separation of the different departments fits the structural grid.

The space available is in a structural bay, going from the vertical communications hall to the rear facade of the building. As a result, we had an elongated space with an entrance of natural light in the opposite wall to the studio entrance.

Médiathèque grand M in France by atelier d’architecture king kong

Wednesday, January 8th, 2020

Article source: atelier d’architecture king kong

The new médiathèque and the esplanade unfolding before it are integral parts of a vast urban redevelopment project (ANRU project) currently implemented by the City of Toulouse. The multiple aspirations of this new multimedia library logically include the rehabilitation of unoccupied urban spaces and the creation of a strong, purposeful architectural symbol. The médiathèque stands in the Le Mirail suburb of the city, laid out between 1961 and 1971 by Georges Candilis and whose urban fabric today is largely fragmented. Additions down the years to Candilis’s original work of Modernist beauty have undermined the area’s structure and the role of this new public building was to reinforce the neighbourhood’s identity, along with other recently rehabilitated or completed constructions.

The plot designated for the médiathèque lies on Avenue de la Reynerie and was originally occupied by a low-lying building, now demolished, and areas of vegetation which have been integrated into the new design. The immediate vicinity is composed of unoccupied planted spaces, a number of high-rise apartment blocks of Modernist inspiration (10- 14 floors) and tall detached houses. The closest neighbouring building is a low, brick built, cube-shaped structure topped with a roof terrace and occupied by the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The building plot for the médiathèque came with a certain number of constraints, ranging from regulatory distances with neighbouring plots and roadways, to the underground train running beneath the projected building and thereby strongly influencing its morphology.
