Tereneo in Lille, France by Béal & Blanckaert architectes urbanistes

Wednesday, June 26th, 2019

Article source: Béal & Blanckaert architectes urbanistes

The firm Béal & Blanckaert architectes urbanistes recently delivered new offices in Lille’s burgeoning district of Lomme-EuraTechnologies.

This project is located around the edges of the water garden in the ZAC (joint development zone) Rives de la Haute Deûle. It extends from the refurbished Le Blan-Lafont factory and the Hegel quay, which runs along the Haute Deûle Canal. The quality of the site is the fact of associating the monumentality of the framing of the Le Blan-Lafont factory with the poetic landscape of the water garden.

Refurbishment of Bergen’s KODE 1 Decorative Art Museum in Norway by 3RW Arkitekter

Sunday, June 23rd, 2019

Article source: 3RW Arkitekter

KODE 1 Museum of Decorative Art—part of KODE Museums, one of Norway’s largest art institutions—is a rehabilitation project by 3RW arkitekter of all the spaces in the centenary building receiving the public, through the insertion of a display wall for the first time showcasing the museum’s archive and creating a new dialectic between the thick stone walls of the old institution, the museum workspaces and the public. At a time when the cultural and artistic sectors of Bergen are thriving, KODE 1 is the latest addition to the city’s cultural revival.

New modular furniture was created to cater for the various spaces and programmes, inspired by ancient Nordic museum displays with slender steel units and flexible arrangements. A white steel mesh ceiling and custom-made carpets and curtains complete a list of key interior elements that were added to the museum to give it a new civic presence in the city.

Xilinx Headquarters Building 3 Renovation in California by Noll & Tam Architects

Friday, June 21st, 2019

Article source: Noll & Tam Architects

This 91,050-square-foot project transformed a tired ‘90s tilt-up building into a modern and inspiring workplace. The goal was to take an office packed with a warren of cubicles and transform it into a high-performance, contemporary office building which would set a precedent for future campus renovations and help attract and retain Silicon Valley talent. Photovoltaic panels now power 100% of the office spaces, while new roofing, insulation, and a new building skin have vastly improved the building’s energy performance.
