Campus Tower Hamburg in Germany by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects

Friday, February 12th, 2021

Article source: Delugan Meissl Associated Architects

The office building is divided into three parts, which are determined by the means of contextual parameters: an architrave block, a waler and a head. This partition creates on the one hand a strong identity of the whole ensemble as an urbanistic prelude for the development of the Baakenhafen, on the other hand generates urban qualities inside the building.

Article source: Lucien Organization – Masanori Designs

Environment subtly affects people’s perception, sensory experiences and emotions.

Human beings have been living closely with nature for hundreds of thousands of years, and such coexistent state has been rooted in our genes. Later, we created built environment, but our attachment to nature hasn’t been changed. It’s our innate desire to live in built environment with natural elements. Researches also show that interior spaces with a natural ambience enable people to better perceive information and enhance concentration.

Central Administration Building in Haldimand, Canada by TCA | Thier + Curran Architects Inc.

Sunday, February 7th, 2021

Article source: TCA | Thier + Curran Architects Inc.

This new 43,000 square foot, 3 storey building serves as the central administration building for Haldimand County, functioning as the ‘Town Hall’ for this county in rapid transition from its rural agricultural past due to its proximity to the GTA. The building has been sensitively scaled and massed to ensure the contextual fit in a small town with adjacent single family dwellings. The building is simple and economical, reflecting the small town ethos of cost restraint. However, attention to detail and design quality elevate the building: careful planning to break down the scale inside and out, selective use of rich, natural materials at high-profile locations and strategic use of a broad colour palette to add warmth all work to avoid the usual banal character of government offices.

CBRE Offices in Helsinki, Finland by Fyra

Friday, February 5th, 2021

Article source: Fyra

The best work environment in the Nordic region. The new Helsinki premises of CBRE, an internationally recognized company focused on work environments and real estate consulting, could have been nothing less.

When Fyra started to plan the facilities for their long-term partner the main idea was that the work can be fun and comfortable, but the space can still be distinguished and professional. The facilities are divided into an internal zone that is used only by employees and an external zone that acts as a showroom for various work environment solutions – a collaborative space for customers and partners that easily transforms into seminar or event use.
