EGL1916 in Jalisco, Mexico by Alvaro Moragrega / arquitecto

Thursday, December 11th, 2014

Article source: Alvaro Moragrega / arquitecto

At the heart of the Colonia Americana a 5 story project is designed inspired by the industrial buildings of the inter-war period. The main façade has an orthodox abstract rhythm of void and filled spaces that do not follow any structural order. The voids themselves have a second protective lattice with falling crosses evocative of similar lattices often used in the area by the Escuela Tapatía.

URCA APARTMENT in SugarLoaf, Guanabara Bay by STUDIO ARTHUR CASAS

Sunday, September 21st, 2014

Article source: STUDIO ARTHUR CASAS

This penthouse in Rio’s Urca neighborhood has an extraordinary location, between the Sugar Loaf and Guanabara Bay. The client bought an apartment that was in terrible conditions, but with an exceptional potential for transformation. The project was guided by two complementary ideas: to create a pathway of discovery of the landscape on both sides, the bay and the mountain, and to bring as much light as possible to the three floors.

Wapping Wrap by atmos

Friday, November 29th, 2013

Article source: atmos

Our refurbishment of a penthouse flat in Wapping unites two astonishing views at either end with a simple series of pure, fluid surfaces. The rooms were peeled open as much as possible, with luscious built-in furniture blended into the existing walls using a light, minimal palette. The curved surfaces of the living room frame a gracious view of the Thames.
