Old Orchard in East Hampton, New York by Blaze Makoid Architecture

Monday, January 15th, 2018

Article source: Blaze Makoid Architecture

One year after purchasing Old Orchard, the homeowners brought on Blaze Makoid to give the residence a complete redo. The original structure was configured as a linear, single story, glass and metal box with grade carved down to basement level at both ends. This provided below-grade access to a garage at one end and a small courtyard for two lower level bedrooms at the other.

Parquet Patterned Pool and Spa in South Sweden by Claesson Koivisto Rune Architects

Sunday, April 2nd, 2017

Article source: Claesson Koivisto Rune Architects

A spa with two pools has been completed adjacent to a 1796 mansion in south Sweden. The spa has one indoor pool for wintertime and one outdoor for summer. The outdoor pool sits on a podium, which levels the slope on which the mansion sits. It thus creates a platform from which you have an elevated view over the estate towards the back. Yet, it sits discrete as seen from the approach to the main entrance.

Pool and studio SM in Balearic Islands, Spain by Joan Miquel Seguí Architecture

Thursday, September 15th, 2016

Article source: Joan Miquel Seguí Architecture

The new swimming pool and the studio are built in the back of the courtyard of an existing house. The studio is a pure volume that flies over the pool, facing the existing house. The pool is proposed as a sheet of water at the same level as the terrace.

The swimming pool is finished with the same stone as the terrace, detailing the lights and pipe-ends so that they are invisible.

Pool House in New Delhi, India by 42mm Architecture

Sunday, January 17th, 2016

Article source: 42mm Architecture

Conceived as a ‘pebble in the grass’, this house acts as an extended entertainment center to a previously existing home which was built 20 years back. It has been designed in congruence with its context by using the same material palette nonetheless managing to express the shift in time of both buildings by virtue of its design. The breathtaking landscape of the site just reinforced the idea, to create a design that blends remarkably with the site it sits in.

Article source: Innauer‐Matt Architekten

While developing this building two parameters had to be considered. The slanting of the sloped site with its exposed position on the one side, on the other side the organization of the entire living area on only one floor.

Srygley Pool House in Springdale, Arkansas by Marlon Blackwell Architects

Thursday, November 26th, 2015

Article source: Marlon Blackwell Architects

The Srygley Pool House is located within a suburban neighborhood that offers little variation from the typical single-family house model.  The simple form of the building strikes a bold pose within this landscape.  The pool house is wrapped in subdued cedar siding, allowing the seemingly foreign form to coexist with the surrounding brick and cedar residences.

Article source: Laboratorio di Architettura e Design

This small private pool is located in the garden of a villa at the bottom of the old city walls.Like the “Villae Minimae”, the “Fontanile” Pool is designed to be a machine for observing the landscape: two stone walls are framing the nature around, isolating a single point of view, like an optical device.

Municipal Indoor Pool in Constantina (Seville, Spain) by FERNANDO SUAREZ CORCHETE

Wednesday, March 11th, 2015

Article source: FERNANDO SUAREZ CORCHETE

Our building is located in a plot at the entrance of the town, bordering the landscape of the mountains in the north of the province of Seville and a great visual presence from all areas due to the elevated streets that climb the hill in the southwest area. In this terrain, with a topographic ascension to the north, were gardens with plenty of plants and trees. The proposed organization meets these topographic conditions, the characteristic landscape of the surrounding mountains, the need to maintain the image of the gardens, and the best east-west orientation to the longitudinal axis of the main pool.
