This is written account of the third private dwelling bij JagerJanssen architects. It concerns the ‘dream-house’ in Blauwestad [Groningen], the Netherlands for Dijk family.
Located at the end of Rue Georges Clemenceau, at the entrance to the university grounds, the plot of land offered the advantage of a three-way view, including one on the park. The clients of the Avenier Cornejo architecture firm were friends of friends. The project developed in a relaxed atmosphere where the architects were allowed a great deal of freedom. The family was open to any proposal for their new home as long as it offered plenty of light, a quality which had been lacking in their previous residence.
OBA were appointed to complete the extension and alterations to Wayside a large private house set in an approximately 1 acre of garden and mature landscape.
For the architectural design of this project, located in the Golf Course Bosque Real in Mexico City, MAZ Arquitectos was responsible for finding the balance with the environment so the project would be in harmony with its surroundings as well as answering all the needs specified by the user.
Accustomed to the daily routine of working in an architectural firm, although not an architect himself, our Londrina homeowner has taken an active role in the creation of his home design. As a young man who likes to host and entertain friends, the design of this home needed to be spacious, multifunctional, and well integrated with great social and leisure areas.
The first phase of this project was the search because the client relied on our expertise to evaluate different properties to find one that not only satisfied their needs but also have the potential to be renewed according to their taste. The magnificent garden and excellent location tilted the balance towards this property as the most attractive.
We helped to unlock the full potential of this Georgian town house by refurbishing the basement and extending at the garden level to create a stunning new living space. The completed project exceeded the client’s expectations providing a spacious and contemporary interior full of natural light and fine materials.

This is a house for a couple in their 40s for spending valuable time with their two daughters. As a motif for the plan, the husband, who is a company owner, chose designs by Alvar Aalto and the small churches that are the heart and soul of people, of which he was influenced when he traveled Northern Europe. The living spaces are filled with the warmth of wood, which is somehow similar to idyllic scenery in Japan.
