We make use of leftover space between five buildings to provide an extension to the public realm. Our inspiration bases on uniquely Japanese notions of layered scale and externality like the Japanese traditional ‘hiroen’ . The modern hiroen changes character on the place and makes a new context of the town.
A redesigning of Maria-Theresien-Straße that does justice to the significance that the street has in the townscape of Innsbruck: the goal was to create an urban site with a rich atmosphere that invites strolling, hanging out, and meeting people. The identity of the site derives from the tension between urbanity and a panoramic view into nature, between past and future, between a specific character and a connective function in the urban structure of Innsbruck.

The goal of the PontèPigneto competition was to gather ideas for a public space which could be energetically self-sufficient (through an intelligent use of form and technology) and elastic (capable to respond to fast urban transformations). The pedestrian bridge in Pigneto neighborhood – Rome, already an important node for the area, was chosen as the project’s location for his capability to become one of the iconic symbols of the neighborhood through a careful redevelopment.
When looking at the creation of any new neighbourhood we need to identify qualities and clarify what its identity and attractiveness will be both for the city and for its inhabitants. For Porto Olympico we want to bring a new life to the area by creating a development which is turned inside out. Rather than making a simple series of towers with all the life on the interior, we have made a project which is defined by a thousand parks, balconies, and plateau’s of life and vitality.

Welcome to Pushkin Square, where Cinema Pushkinsky sits. In 1961, when it was completed, it shone out proudly, and attracted hordes of visitors. But now, in the 21st century, it has drawn in on itself. Historic photos and sketches of this theater show a building that was once much more open and inviting. It was a theater that drew moviegoers into its luminescent darkness. Now, the dilapidated movie theater appears to be a dead end of the once radiant Pushkin Square.
