Located at 1,700 m in the Borjomi region of Georgia, Bakuriani is nestled in the shadows of the breathtaking Caucasus Mountains, only a three-hour drive from Tbilisi. Home to dozens of alpine slopes and cross-country trails, it offers some of the most spectacular skiing and snowboarding in Europe.
Originally developed as an Olympic training facility, unsurprisingly, Bakuriani is Georgia’s most popular winter sports and recreation destination. Enjoy the downhill ski runs, cross-country trails, horseback tours, sledding or simply take long walks through beautiful snowy forests.
With a contemporary and sophisticated language, we seeked the creation of spaces that passed the message of personality and coziness, dialoguing with new ways of living and entertaining.
Focused on the interaction and contact with natural elements, the design has as its guideline the experience of the resident itself. A functional and elegant architecture, with a minimalist, but at the same time, affectionate feature.
Boué Arquitectos has consolidated the second stage that contributes to the reactivation of Callejón de Dolores located in perpendicular direction to Dolores street where Mexico City´s China Town flows. On this alley the transformation actions and improvement of its urban image done by the local authorities is starting to show in its overall commercial impetus, gastronomic offers and tradition.
The single-family housing is located in Galegos de Santa Maria, Barcelos, a plot terrain with circa 4000 sqm. The building was implemented near of the corner of 1º Dezembro Street and Trás da Fonte Street, allowing the construction of another house on the remaining ground to the North.
The program is distributed over four independent volumes that are interconnected by a central patio. All over the patio’s perimeter is created a corridor allowing the access and the relation between the different spaces of the house. The corridor and the patio are only separated by window frame and two walls built with granite stone of the existing ruin.
This project intends to refurbish a single-family house, severely affected by pathologies resulting from defective construction options.
In addition of trying to correct the existing pathologies, we also intend to rectify the dysfunctions of spatial organization. Besides, the ambition of the project is to rehabilitate the dwelling to give it new habitability conditions, and to ensure that it becomes more versatile and with better construction details.
The ground where it is positioned admits two distinct zones, an urban one confronted with the main street, and where the house is implanted, and the remaining rural area of forest use, where it is foreseen an implantation of a space of leisure with a padel field and garden areas.

This house was featured on the 2019 Houston Modern Home Tour. It’s a 3,800 square foot, 4 story modern home. Cool project and clients! The key was to work around the 3 existing large trees, and still be able to fit in all of the spaces required in the program. There are awesome views from all levels, the best are from the 4th floor terrace – looking towards the skyline of downtown Houston in one direction, and towards the Transco Tower in the other direction.
Reima and Raili Pietilä won the competition for the Finnish Embassy to be located in the diplomatic enclave in Chanakyapuri in 1963 with a beautiful and powerful competition entry called “Snow speaks on the mountains”. The project was commissioned and redesigned based on the original concept in 1980, and the building was finally opened in 1986 with the large single expanse of roof broken up into the six lateral separate buildings standing on the embassy compound today.

The Tall Timber Building residence has become a landmark and, during construction, became Sweden’s tallest solid wooden building in the new district of Kajstaden at Lake Mälaren in Västerås. All parts of the building consist of cross-laminated wood, which includes the walls, joists and balconies as well as the lift and stairwell shafts.
Kajstaden – Tall Timber Building is an important landmark for sustainable construction and a reference project that shows that conversion to climate conscious architecture is possible. Through research projects and several active wood projects, C.F. Møller Architects has focused on innovation as well as developing and implementing multi-storey buildings with solid wood frames. In Kajstaden, an active decision was made to prioritise industrial timber techniques for the building material to influence and take responsibility for the impact of the construction industry on the environment and climate change. A crucial advantage of wood, unlike other building materials, is that the production chain for the material produces a limited amount of carbon dioxide emissions. Instead, it is part of a closed cycle, where carbon is retained in the frame of the building.
Research also shows that buildings with a wooden frame make a positive contribution to human health and well-being- thanks to better air quality and acoustic qualities.
Structuring the spaces by reasonable groups detonate the distribution: the moderated space accompanies the living area that studies perspectives from its entrance and practices auctions full of materiality. The one that hides and then comes as a surprise is the private area which welcomes us to an intimate atmosphere, a comfort space outside the bedroom that can also be perceived as part of it.
The prudence in the nuances of the materials emphasizes with a bold accent the furniture. The texture always draws the material with selected veins for each environment, which together with the development of the straight line make up a space for a user who understand the significance of details.
A collection of intersecting rocks form the sweeping dune compound of RESIDENTIAL M external skin that defines the internal program of 5 residential units and their exclusive interior oasis leading to a conjuring representation of the desert culture. While respecting the value of the surroundings and maintaining traditional Arabic functions as a whole, each unit sustains its individual contemporary identity. The whole project strip reflects a unified scheme through the design in the use of the natural stone against a white canvas allowing the project to tie together as a single development.
