Friday, January 31st, 2020

Article source: U-Style

The 101,51 square-meter minimalistic style flat in grey shades is for active progressive young city dwellers who would love to escape from the hustle and bustle and value their comfort. Due to the glass partitions, reflective surfaces and huge windows, there is a feeling of even a greater space, and the absence of extra features and a variety of shades enables you to truly take mind of things. Meanwhile, the premises have been designed with enough room for a huge walk-in closet, and the stylish functional kitchen has become a wonderful place to welcome guests.

Article source: Offstage

The apartment, in an eighteenth-century building in the heart of Milan, was in a state of complete abandonment and dilapidated. Despite this, the original structure appeared intact and suggested an intervention of a philological nature, recovering all the elements of the past integrating them with a few contemporary elements necessary to make the unit habitable for a family of five.

Lluvia House in Mexico by PPAA

Wednesday, January 29th, 2020

Article source: PPAA

Lluvia is a single-family residence located in Jardines del Pedregal, southern Mexico City. It is located in a residential area, and the site has neighboring constructions. One of its main qualities is the natural vegetation found at the back, which became an important asset in the architectural scheme.

The house is conceived as a solid volume that incorporates subtractions along the main axis; these are formed as small courtyards and double heights depending on the program. Our main intention was to merge sections of the main forest-like garden with the interior of the house and let in natural light.

It comprises a 15-storey office building that hosts the London headquarters for Amazon, alongside one of London’s tallest residential buildings, the 50-storey Principal Tower, with six eateries that wrap around the building at street level and a light bar, creating a 360-degree active frontage that extends the vibrancy of the City towards the north.

Casa Angatuba Reform in São Paulo, Brazil by messina | rivas arquitetos

Wednesday, January 29th, 2020

Article source: messina | rivas arquitetos

Casa Angatuba Reform is located in Pacaembu, a city-garden neighborhood in the city of São Paulo. We were asked to renovate a 300 square meters residence, built in 1940, replacing all the necessary infrastructures and transforming spaces for a new family to inhabit.

During the construction process, together with engineers and builders, we investigated how material experimentation, through the reuse of demolition bricks, enables us to propose new sustainable and economic forms to serve spatial, functional and tectonic issues.

Plaster Fun House in Torrensville, South Australia by Sans-Arc Studio

Wednesday, January 29th, 2020

Article source: Sans-Arc Studio

The Plaster Fun House has two main conceptual inspirations. Firstly, the clients’ love of Art Deco and P & O style Architecture. Secondly, their style and taste and their extensive collection of unique Italian and Czech glassware and German Pottery. The clients wanted a space that was fun, full of light and compact.

Spatially, we spliced the existing residence. The cottage already housed a good sized dining room, which was integrated into the extension by running a singular kitchen island/dining table through the two spaces. The existing bathroom was expanded and a laundry added adjacent.
