Concrete is proud to announce the opening of Postillion Hotel Amsterdam, a place for hotel visitors, local businesses and neighbourhood residents alike. With 252 rooms in a 65-meter tower, the hotel programme has been expanded with a wide range of additional public functions. As the final piece of the Kauwgomballenfabriek transformation, the programme and spatial design of the building are in line with the current developments in the area.
Located on the first floor of the restaurant Racó de L’Aranau, our project is based on the need to gain more space as a starting point to provoke a transition towards a more sober, reasonable and simpler aesthetic that put an emphasis on the restaurant’s cuisine which is based on the quality of its products and the Valencian tradition.
After studying the characteristics of the premises, the project of the new dining area poses the challenge of controlling a great quantity of natural light and succeeding in transmitting a sense of serenity and comfort through the different areas that lead you there.
A new-world outpost of the global Moët Hennessy sparkling wine house, a subsidiary of LVMH, Domaine Chandon has been making superlative méthode traditionelle sparkling wine in the crisp, verdant Yarra Valley for over thirty years.
Our brief was to overhaul the site and create a new brand-immersion across bar, dining, tasting and retail spaces. Inspired by the uplifting ritual of spontaneously popping the cork, we’ve celebrated heritage with a fresh affair fit for the 21st century. Views of the incredible surrounding landscape were a natural starting point for considering the visitor experience, the range of which will traverse loyalists and locals, diehard food and wine thrill-seekers, ‘gramming millennials and new discoverers alike. Fearless application of colour reflects the extraordinary tonal shifts in the environs throughout the seasons.
Where new meets old. By echoing the original plans, White Arkitekter’s new design of Carlanderska Hospital respects the landmark building’s well-known atmosphere and expression yet displays its own unique character.
New meets old
Carlanderska Hospital in Göteborg, Sweden, has provided specialist healthcare to public and private patients since 1927. The extension and transformation project primarily houses technology-intensive functions such as surgery, x-ray and sterilisation, but also adds new entrances, staff facilities and a restaurant. White Arkitekter used the same type of materials – red brick and a copper roof – for the extension as that of the original building, unifying the new with the old. The coloured joints and medieval-inspired brick pattern further ensures that the new structure naturally blends into the setting.
Franken Architekten developed the interior design for an innovative and modern fresh casual concept – a salad and pizzarestaurant with integrated wine bar in Hamburg. ROK is a new, creative salad and pizza experience, with the guest in the foreground. He can create dishes himself or be surprised by the newly interpreted salad and pizzas. Digital pre-ordering and an exciting and cozy interior design from the kitchen greenhouse to the ROK grandstand to various seating areas make the visit to Rock Our Kitchen an experience. The decor of the restaurant is full of thoughtful details; the kitchen area in the background is called “Glashouse”, the walldesign should remind to the shelves of a barn. The restaurant opened in the city center in 2017.
Situated in Marmari, Kos, in a setting surrounded by palms, Caravia Beach Junior Suites and Restaurant, is an extension to an existing hotel. The Suites and the restaurant are organically connected via a large outdoor pool and deck network, on the water.
The complex unfolds around a communal pool which underlines the 5 bungalows and the restaurant and connects with all the structured environment via a network of decks and platforms, creating channels that surround the individual spaces.
MVRDV´s “KoolKiel” Will Redevelop a City Block Using a Progressive Approach to Participation and Flexibility
MVRDV has been selected as the designer of a 65,000-square-metre mixed-use complex that will redevelop a post-industrial site in Kiel, Germany. The proposal, which includes a hotel, offices, residences, commercial space, and an event space, makes use of a flexible design system, rather than a fixed and unchangeable plan, allowing the design to adapt easily to the needs and desires of the community as the design development progresses.
There is a catchy wordplay in the Pub’s name in Ukrainian, but when translated word-by-word, rather than as an idiomatic expression, it is invariably associated with youth, fun and healthy leafy greens.
The Pub is located in Lviv city center, in a three-storey converted industrial building. Two large rooms on the ground floor and enclosed cobblestone courtyard have been integrated into the Pub’s design.
Located in the up-and-coming district of Amsterdam Southeast, the new 900m2 pavilion will become an inspiring and stimulating destination for employees on the campus, entrepreneurs, local residents, students and visitors. It will not only be the heart of the campus of ING and a high quality all-day dining option, but also a multifunctional space for the whole community. When completed, the building will play an essential role in this rapidly changing area of Amsterdam. With nearby cultural and education institutions, and the influx of people moving away from the city center, the project location is ideal for engaging people through authentic place-making.

The new proposal of New York Burger renews the interior design of the brand in its new premises located in the Commercial Center of the Moraleja Green. From the hand of Proyecto Singular, interpreting a concept emerged from the three pillars of the brand: Brass, Wood and Smoke, the design of the space suggests a container of essences product of craftsmanship, with the grill as protagonist and where a good touch is added of sophistication.
