The residential tower is to be a new prototype for one of the key residential areas in Lima, Peru. The major use for the units is for a single person (single, divorced, widow or a newly wedding couple) who wish to live in the coolest zone of San Isidro. In addition, the site is limited by 60% buildable area with height restriction which allows maximum 16 story(48m) height for 30 residential units.
Afghanistan’s culture that abides in the country was much ruined and deserted. Its new museum to catch up the lost richness and its cultural asset is necessitated to give hope and inspire people in that region.
Finding this design chance as a way to bring the lost heritage back to the present, the major concern for the architecture was not only about the collections but also emotional realm of space that requires a place to give a rest and the joy of the nature in its heritage safe and secured.
Vista Del Valle is a 4,400 square feet house in the Sonoma hills that articulates modern forms, site informed design, and soft clean materials. The project is on a steep site with a view out over the valley, with distant views of Mt. Diablo and East Bay. Its multi-axis plan and gently sloped shed roofs create informal active spaces that look modern in form and yet remain soft with light finely-textured stucco and warm clear-grain horizontal cedar siding.
The house is located in the Monte Argentario National Park on the top of an hill with an amazing view facing the sea and the islands just in front of Tuscany. It is an old agricultural warehouse which has been completely rebuild in its shape using recovery stones from the old building. The particular roof system has been built following a local tradition which was performed in a contemporary way. New openings create windows which allow to enjoy the beautiful view from all the side of the house. The stones and the white plasters of the windows width create a sophisticated atmosphere which gives to the building a strong image.

The vision responds to the extending aim of positioning Taiwan in general, and Tainan city in particular, as a major historical based tourism destination, contributing Taiwan’s economic diversification from its current infrastructure lead planning system.
The solution proposed for the Art Centre is basically articulated around a dialogue between the old convent and the new building. A building-corridor winds next to the old building and goes over it to end up inside the cloister. It is conceived to be an icon, with an image that is formal and categorical yet simple and recognizable, which contrasts the former convent. Each building has an independent interpretation and they confront each other without establishing formal competition.
Located in the heart of Berlin, this newly completed izakaya restaurant combines traditional Japanese materials and hand craft with 3D modeling and computer programming to form an atmospheric space for dining. Responding to the client’s wishes for a cozy space that establishes a visual identity for the restaurant while also maximizing table count, the entire design intervention is achieved without the use of a single wall. A 56 sq meter ceiling installation serves as the main design feature of the restaurant.
By using the chopstick as a simple, repeating element, the project creates an immersive and highly intimate canopy over the space.
Libraries today serve as gathering places, community centers, and cafes. We need to stop viewing libraries as sacred temples of reading and research and more as a collective gathering place of people, ideas, events, and resources; a place that incites imagination and satisfies curiosity – a veritable flowering of culture. With a form that evokes the Oklahoma Rose, this library has a multi-layered skin that passively filters light, sound, and visitors to the library. These ‘petals’ diffuse the light entering the library, reducing solar heat gain and providing excellent reading light.
Manta is a surface that changes form – and therefore acoustic character – in response to multimodal input through Open Sound Control [OSC], including stereoscopic vision, multi-touch, sound, and brainwaves. While adaptable acoustic treatments are common, Manta explores variability and responsiveness in the surface itself, advancing acoustic systems beyond individual elements and corrective treatment.

Wendy does not play the typical architecture game of ecological apology – instead she is pro-active. That is why Wendy is composed of PVC mesh treated with a ground breaking titania nanoparticle spray to neutralize airborne pollutants. During the summer of 2012 Wendy will clean the air to an equivalent of taking 260 cars off the road.
