La Olivia in Barcelona, Spain by RÄS studio

Tuesday, October 4th, 2016

Article source: RÄS studio

We are an architecture studio from Barcelona that grew among the floods –and the delusions– from another generation. We closely walk with our projects, questioning assumed models and redrawing possible relationships between the architect, the space and who inhabits it. The result is a thoughtful and efficient architecture, sensitive but bold, and as affordable as shocking. Here we present three of our projects.

An architect’s house is a thing to play with, a bit like life.  Perhaps even more so when its an architecture inherited almost unchanged from Alec Bowman’s original 1960 design for a retired couple, and now in dire need of simple things like a kitchen, spaces to fit a family, and a connection to the garden.

Gabba Gabba Hey !! With this “war cry” one of the most famous bands of rock n ‘roll history, The Ramones, would start almost all their concerts This slogan, rescued from the cult movie Freaks 1928, was fixed to a huge banner to reclaim the pride of the marginal.
