Gelato Dal Cuore in Shanghai, China by hcreates interiors and design

Thursday, September 27th, 2018

Article source: hcreates interiors and design

Gelato Dal Cuore is the latest addition to Jing’An eateries resurgence. When it comes to Gelato these guys really know what they are doing. Gelato Dal Cuore, roughly translates to Gelato from the heart. Their passion for high quality shows through with the use of fresh imported ingredients to producing handmade traditional Gelato flavours and inventing loads of seasonal flavours with a local twist. To compliment the high-quality product, Gelato Dal Cuore wanted the design to follow some traditional elements that spoke to the heritage of classic Italian Gelato, mixed with modern elements and accents to complete their orange brand colours. The result is a cool balance of refined and classic which ties together the fun and playfulness of the ingredients. This shop is sure to have lines long into the Shanghai summer.

V&A Dundee in Scotland by KENGO KUMA & ASSOCIATES and PiM.studio Architects

Article source: PiM.studio Architects

Envelope

The building envelope is created by methods of twisting, connecting and layering the city grid axis and the adjacent RRS Discovery ship axis, using a ring structure made of reconstituted stone and concrete to compliment the traditional construction materials used in Dundee and reflect the natural cliff structure of the coastline.

The building’s form creates dramatic spaces with an impressive main hall forming a public indoor plaza, and areas that overhang the external public plaza. The external envelope draws people to the waterfront and generates a new migration route along the riverside promenade. The interior space of the main hall is filled with a gentle light emanating from apertures cut through the layered stone to create an open yet intimate public space.

A Place Where You not Only Shop…

Eye-D designed by Ofist in Istanbul, is not just a shop, but a multi purpose venue… It’s a blogger spot, a meeting point, an art gallery, a coffee shop or a music venue… More importantly, it is a human experience based space. A place where you not only shop, but involve in other experiences, being aware of your surrounding and valuing it.

Eye-d is not just designed to be an optical shop. No business is just the business itself anymore. Everything is social. We can not neglect today’s facts when even sitting at home by yourself can be a social media product.

Nutrisa in Monterrey, Mexico by Cadena+Asociados Concept Design

Monday, September 17th, 2018

Article source: Cadena+Asociados Concept Design

The relaunch of a 47 year old very successful brand in Mexico was no easy task, a brand that is centered in making people feel good through their natural products and amazing yogurt ice-cream. The design challenge began by constructing culture towards the brand spirit from the inside-out, making people feel part of the new journey about to begin. The bee had been their iconic symbol since the beginning and although it made perfect sense it had never connected them to their true Mexican roots. So the journey began strengthening our symbols by understanding the amazing Mexican bee (Melipona Beechei) Xunan-Cab called by the ancient Mayans. This sense of belonging is spread not only through understanding our past but also very importantly, through projecting innovation and a clear vision of the brands future.

Alleosse in Paris, France by AMlab

Thursday, September 6th, 2018

Article source: AMlab

Through a tailor-made project in which taste and design unite and a passion for beauty and goodness, AMlab reinterprets and concretizes the vision of Philippe Alléosse, according to the New York Times, one of the three best Fromageur Affineur of the world.

The result is an atypical shop, with a strong character in which the exposure of cheeses comes out of the common by highlighting the value of the refining process.

The concept has two distinct characteristics: the point-of-sale exhibition that reflects the outward-looking offer and the staging of the cheese that is presented as a jewel. The architectural lines of the project, characterized by a vault reminiscent of the maturing cellar, give a greater vision of the space.

La Forneria in Barcelona, Spain by Piedra Papel Tijera Interiorismo

Wednesday, September 5th, 2018

Article source: Piedra Papel Tijera Interiorismo

LA FORNERIA is a bakery family business in the ground floor of a building in the neighborhood of Sarrià, Barcelona. A place of fluid transit which invites to sit wherever you want, how you want with room for everyone.

The purpose was to give to the space a natural image to make it be like a mirror of its handcrafted products, produced entirely in their own workshop. Burned pine needles as a reminiscent of wood, wicker baskets, lamps and doors as a concept that combined with the elegance of oak wood and micro cement wallcovering emphasize the natural iron counter and the big product displayer. Clear and simple. The red bar makes a nod to the exterior facade.
