J. MAYER H. und Partner, Architekten has been named the winner of the invited competition for Volt Berlin, a new concept for a location for shopping and urban experience near Berlin’s Alexanderplatz. The experience cluster is a fusion concept combining a multi-brand store, various experiential offerings, events, and a hotel, and is directed towards adventurous visitors with a focus on a smart urban lifestyle.
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT WAS TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEW SHOPPING MALL INTO THE ARCHITECTURAL MESS SURROUNDINGS AND CREATING THE NEUTRAL BACKGROUND FOR THE HISTORIC CHURCH BUILDING.
Shopping center Puuvilla is founded on piles. The frame is built with reinforced concrete pillars, hollow-core and cast-in-place slabs and pre-stressed concrete beams, with interconnecting steel pillars and beams on the Kutomo end.
Structural design and precast detailing is done by modeling and steel roof structures and facade elements are modeled with Tekla.
SPARK wins the mixed-use category at the 24th annual Architectural Review MIPIM Future Project Awards 2014, which were conferred on 12 March in Cannes. The Vanke Jiugong project (Beijing) has been recognised for its intricate mixing of retail, leisure, entertainment, and office programmes, and for the strong urban connections and experiences it proposes through its inversion of the shopping mall typology.

Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK) and Liberty Property Trust (NYSE: LRY) announced today they will jointly develop the “Comcast Innovation and Technology Center” on the 1800 block of Arch Street in Center City Philadelphia. The proposed $1.2 billion 59-story, 1,121-foot tower will neighbor Comcast Center, Comcast Corporation’s global headquarters, and become a dedicated home for the company’s growing workforce of technologists, engineers, and software architects. The facility will also create a media center in the heart of the City by becoming home to the operations of local broadcast television stations NBC 10/WCAU and Telemundo 62/WWSI and offer space for local technology startups.

This shopping center is divided in five interconnected parts wrapped up by a translucent façade. The circulation is based on twisting corridors opening towards the surrounding landscape.
The project is located in the Chinese port city of Lianyungang, in the vicinity of a new amusement park. The master-plan for this low density area, intended for tertiary use, proposes an interesting organic land fragmentation.
The plot is westbound exposed to an urban condition –a small plaza-, while surrounded by a pedestrian walkway and a river on the opposite side.
Hanjie Wanda Square is a new luxury shopping plaza located in the Wuhan Central Culture Centre, one of the most important areas of Wuhan City in China.
Following a competition in 2011, with design entries from national and international architects, UNStudio’s overall design was selected by Wanda as the winning entry for the facade and interior of the Hanjie Wanda Square. The shopping plaza houses international brand stores, world-class boutiques, catering outlets and cinemas.

A new urban space open to the city. This project for restructuring an existing shopping centre built in 1977 responds to issues surrounding urban and landscape requalification and fits within a plan to redevelop the east side of the city. More than a shopping centre, the project involved creating a new urban space that attracts people to meet and visit, and that contributes to the expansion and enhancement of Cherbourg-Octeville.
