The project was based on the play of volumes and planes, contrasting its parts also by the colors employed. The building‘s access is demarcated by a large structural front balance, protecting the open hall and inviting the public in. In the inner space, the high ceilings create unique spatialities that value the products on display.

Sunday, February 5th, 2023

Article source: Prashant Parmar Architect | Shayona Consultants

The client approached us with the willingness to design a jewellery boutique at one of the prime locations in Ahmedabad, named CG Road. This 1500 sq. ft. carpet area boutique store is designed to be serene, with neutral white walls and minimal texture added by veneering furniture.

The main aim of the design was to amalgamate creativity, functionality, and practicality to provide a completely immersive experience to the client and the customers. It was to be kept in mind that the design should not only be trendy and refreshing but also maintain a certain degree of the classic timelessness the brand stood for.

The building brings together the three brands of the company Manifattura Valcismon S.p.A. – Sportful, Castelli, Karpos – in a single commercial space of 1,500 square meters of covered area located a few steps from the group’s historical headquarters.

The building is spread over an area of 8,700 square meters on a single above-ground level with an irregularly shaped floor plan, where a secondary volume is grafted to the main building. The main volume is articulated in six irregular pitches with different slopes and inclinations intended to recall the skyline of the surrounding pre-Alpine peaks while the secondary volume, of more modest impact, is concluded by a flat roof.

BEASTER Concept Store Suzhou in China by Some Thoughts

Thursday, November 24th, 2022

Article source: Some Thoughts

Normally, we consider design should present brand new image. Under the accumulation of a long time, a surplus of “products” began to appear in our lives gradually, ranging from construction waste to daily necessities. Nowadays, architects and designers take the restoration projects seriously, which is a response towards the excess of products and an awakening to the future.

Commercial space has often been associated with “differentiation” to achieve brand uniqueness. Hence, how to respond to the “excess” of a variety of materials is a question to designers in the current era. In the design of BEASTER Concept Store, Some Thoughts reflect on the uniqueness achieved by “customization”, aspiring to use the existing products to develop the spatial design of BEASTER, and re-organize the partials of some products we selected to replace the “brand-new” design.

GBC 5 in Galvaniho ulica, Bratislava by Architekti Šebo Lichý

Friday, November 4th, 2022

Article source: Architekti Šebo Lichý

Galvaniho Business Center 5 is the last completed block of the Bratislava business and administrative complex located between Galvani Street and the D1 motorway, which consists of retail parks and shopping centres, shopping arcades, showrooms, hotels and rentable administrative complexes. GBC 5 is an office building which, thanks to its dynamic façade and changing window tectonics, parametrically responds to lighting conditions and location with respect to the cardinal directions. Wide panoramic views of the slopes of the Carpathians and the north of Bratislava, dense vertical solar shading on the south side and longitudinal eastern and western façades of changing perforated geometry with irregular façade atriums with greenery bring refreshing change and authentic design to suburban generic urbanism.  With its architectural, construction and technology solutions, GBC 5 strives to respond to all critical issues and new challenges of current design. Today, our latest experience with the global pandemic crisis and imminent climate change forces us to rethink architectural design and solve problems of cities and country development.
