Sealing Memories in Various Forms until the Light Approaches
Upon entering the door, in the center of cool and avant-garde solid wood floor stained with soft-stem bulrush, the long glass case is covered with warm light, and the moss decoration inside as the main material floats like a cloud. This set of planting art decoration was originally a chair stool. This space is surrounded by a beige gray façade and one end is hidden with a matte frosted acrylic screen. A blurred figure appeared from the opening similar to the ticket booth of the art museum. It turns out that it is a space starting point for traditional Chinese medicine treatment and SPA care testing.
The Hotel Bostalsee occupies an advantageous position in its natural surroundings, overlooking a serene lake from a wooded promontory. GRAFT’s design aims to build on and enrich the character of the location.
The building figure is a product of the surrounding topography. The hotel connects the realm of the wood with the expanse of the lake, mediating between the land and the water.
Guests arrive at the hotel through oak woodland, barely seeing the lake. The path to the hotel leads on towards two green hills on which the main section of the two-storey hotel rests. The lobby is situated beneath it at the natural gap between the hills, revealing a breathtaking view over the lake as one enters. The lobby frames the sunset which in turn animates the space with the cycle of nature. An open-air terrace with fireplace offers guests an opportunity to enjoy the evening spectacle.

This recently completed luxury-housing complex, consisting of 45 residential units in two volumes–one street side, and the other canal-facing–are connected by an underground, communal parking garage, and are separated above by an internal, and lushishly landscaped, intimate courtyard for its residents. Four penthouses are situated on the top two floors of the rear, canal-facing volume; two on the front. The building itself is sited on the eastern edge of Amsterdam’s city center, which was built in the sixteenth century, about a half a kilometer from the ‘Zuiderkerk’ (Southern Church), which dates from 1608. Due to the delicate nature of the site within the center of historic Amsterdam, groundwork during preparation of the building’s foundation, uncovered evidence of archaeological remains from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, which the city excavated and studied. After months of the site’s excavation by the city, construction proceed on–The Double.
Wafra Beacon is a competition-winning proposal for a food and beverage mall development for the Sabah Al Ahmed Sea City area in Kuwait. The proposal transcends the barriers of traditional F&B developments in the region.
The project scope includes two rectangular plots facing a public square anchored by a mosque. Each plot contains a sectional podium housing independent multi-level restaurants and a multi-use tower. The Beacon is designed to be the destination of choice for the trendiest concepts in the Kuwait culinary scene while doubling up as the hub for a healthy and active beach lifestyle. Departing from the notion of a traditional F & B Mall, the design seeks to function as an Oasis for the young, active and creative demographic inhabiting the surrounding areas and visiting for the weekends.

Nevzat Demir Facility of Besiktas Sports Club (Turkey’s one of the biggest sports clubs) is located in Çekmeköy, Istanbul. The three-storey main building was not used efficiently before the renovation. There was also a need for an indoor pool and a spa area for the football players. Design process was started in order to transform this area according to these basic needs.
A pool section that contains indoor pool, jacuzzi, swimming pool, in water running, shock pool was planned for the players to use in training and treatment purposes. The spa section was designed with steam room, sauna, hot stone beds, relaxation room and showers. There are also two massage rooms with a private jacuzzi and shower as well as a foot and hair care department for professional use of football players. All these functions were placed in a 570 sqm area with a well-resolved circulation and operation.
The project “AROMA DREAM” is an enchanting place for Thai message and spa. John Sun, the principal of DDDD Creative Studio, approached the design in a way quite different from the previous commercial projects. Based on the community-based real economy model in China's first-tier cities, the designer focused more on incorporating the community’s humanistic environment into spatial experience, and tried to let customers enjoy traditional Thai massage in an unconventional Thai massage space.
The project is located in Shekou area, Shenzhen, China, where business and community coexist. The pace of life in Shenzhen, the young city, is really fast. In contrast with the surrounding noisy community, AROMA DREAM keeps a low profile. After opening a dark-green door beside the street, the interior light instantly adjusts to a comfortable brightness for eyes, fragrance of lemon grass overwhelms noses, and the patter of rain and soft classical violin music run into ears, making the customers feel like they are traversing the jungle and entering an ancient rainforest.

The project is the total transformation of an existing commercial space into a physiotherapy clinic. The space is strongly characterized by its proportion of 9mx33m with direct sunlight only by the smaller side. The clinic program is divided in four groups, common spaces, cabinets, gym and the spa.
The reception, distribution and the gym are placed in the areas with direct sunlight, while the rooms where privacy is needed are located on the interior of the clinic.

concrete proudly presents the opening of its latest hotel project, Andaz Munich in Schwabing. Like a kaleidoscope, the Andaz hotel reflects the culture and tradition of the neighbourhood, creating a stimulating and inspiring atmosphere where guests and locals can feel at home.
Weaving state-of-the-art technology and old traditions into the interior, reflecting what makes Munich unique, forming a sense of tension that can be found throughout the hotel design. The ceiling structure illustrates this contrast via a literally interwoven network of rough wood and high-gloss anodised metal. The connecting axis between the different areas which brings all functions together in a single hybrid space ('we share') is a lively place to meet and mingle.
The many facets of Bavarian culture run like a leitmotif through the design. This is reflected from the largest scale to the smallest details; for example, the diamond shape (the Bavarian flag) is placed over the whole layout like a matrix, while details like deer horn buttons on the cushions remind of Bavarian fashion. Many icons associated with the city of Munich have been reinterpreted or abstracted as small highlights drizzled throughout the hotel, while traditional materials have been given a modern interpretation via a contemporary design language, including the “golden pretzel”.
La Clara, a 25-storey residential tower overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, will stand as a secluded and refined oasis in one of South Florida’s most prestigious communities. With spaces created for peaceful living and perfect luxury, La Clara will feature one to three-bedroom residences that range from 1,500 to over 3,000 square feet and with three luxurious penthouse floors at the top. Most residences will have a south-east facing private terrace with panoramic ocean views that allows for plenty of natural light but still offers an ideal privacy. The masterfully imagined design for La Clara offers residents the sense of comfort that comes with a warm and welcoming home while evoking feelings of luxury and indulgent extravagance. The solid elements of the tower will be clad in white stucco while the podium levels feature Roman travertine, coral stone, and granite with bronze accents. Amenities will include a spa, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness room, club room, indoor/outdoor private dining, a bar and lounge, as well as a private tasting room.
