The Nest in Varsovia, Poland by Beza Projekt

Thursday, December 13th, 2018

Article source: Beza Projekt

We were commissioned to design interiors for The Nest – a modern coworking space. What is the real mean of the coworking space, how do we work nowadays? We tend to spend more and more time at work, or actually the border between work and leisure is being blurred. You may fight with that or just adapt.

The Nest is a place for a modern self-confident person who values its time – may work only few hours a day or maybe the whole weekend. Our main goal was to create spaces that aren’t office like, they are more like club, where you should feel comfy and cosy.

Los Altos New Residence in California by Klopf Architecture

Thursday, December 13th, 2018

Article source: Klopf Architecture

Klopf Architecture and Outer space Landscape Architects designed a new warm, modern, open, indoor-outdoor home in Los Altos, California. Inspired by mid-century modern homes but looking for something completely new and custom, the owners, a couple with two children, bought an older ranch style home with the intention of replacing it.

Created on a grid, the house is designed to be at rest with differentiated spaces for activities; living, playing, cooking, dining and a piano space. The low-sloping gable roof over the great room brings a grand feeling to the space. The clerestory windows at the high sloping roof make the grand space light and airy.

Upon entering the house, an open atrium entry in the middle of the house provides light and nature to the great room. The Heath tile wall at the back of the atrium blocks direct view of the rear yard from the entry door for privacy.

Premier Tower in Melbourne, Australia by Elenberg Fraser

Wednesday, December 12th, 2018

Article source: Elenberg Fraser

This might be the first time you’ve heard us say this but at our new mixed-use project at 134-160 Spencer Street there’s actually less than meets the eye. Well, kind of. It’s true that the responsive approach to precinct regeneration sets a new bar for mixed-use developments. We could even say that this building, which sits directly in front of Southern Cross station – the first thing people see when arriving – will anchor the increased westerly shift of the CBD, heralded by the regeneration of Docklands, Fishermen’s Bend and Southbank.

Casa Campolivar in Godella, Spain by ANTONIO ALTARRIBA ARCHITECT

Monday, December 10th, 2018

Article source: ANTONIO ALTARRIBA ARCHITECT

The idea was to generate a stone podium that emerged from the base itself, establishing numerous relationships with its immediate surroundings, serving as the base for the sculptural piece of concrete where the program’s night area is located.

Materiality is a fundamental part of this project, the work with stone, textured white concrete, glass and wood, are the elements that in an artisanal but very technological way defines the project.

Intervention in The Basins of The Mudéjar Palace of Real Alcázar De Sevilla in Spain by Reina & Asociados

Friday, December 7th, 2018

Article source: Reina & Asociados

The proposal contemplates the refurbishment of the basement spaces of the Palacio del Rey don Pedro with the aim of welcoming in the near future a selection of pieces of different types belonging to the archaeological collection of the Alcázar, the result of the research carried out in the last years.

The construction of the Mudéjar Palace supposes the destruction of previous Almohad buildings, including the southern wall of the complex that, partially dismantled, serves as a containment to the ground levels. On this front, the building exceeds the limits of the Islamic precinct and saves through a basal body the variable unevenness existing with the old orchards and corrals -current gardens- located outside the walls, constructing the sequence of vaulted spaces that are the object of the present action.
