Valley House 2 in Nova Lima, Brazil by David Guerra Arquitetura e Interiores

Friday, November 2nd, 2018

Article source: David Guerra Arquitetura e Interiores

A couple with two grown up sons approached us having a generous site with an almost 360° view and the idea of building a modern and cozy house. The house needed to be a good place to entertain guests and friends and at the same time maintain the panorama created by the garden. Thus, the house was built with fluid spaces, with generous lighting and crossed ventilation, that could be easily integrated or isolated to be used together or independently changing integration and privacy as needed.

Off-Grid Villa in Camargue, France by BLUEROOM

Wednesday, October 31st, 2018

Article source: BLUEROOM

BLUEROOM proudly presents the sketch design for an Off-Grid Villa in the south of France.

The team researched the design potential for building a patio villa on a 1.000 m2 site, in a region in the south east of France. The Client requested a striking, contemporary design that blends into its natural context. A residence that can absorb changing needs in the future, such as extra children, in-living parents or in-living nurse. BLUEROOM welcomed this task as a balancing act between expressive and subtle design, to create a compact patio villa that facilitates both the interaction between its users, as well as the comfort of privacy when so desired.

Integral Reform Of Commercial Premises for Housing Use in Seville, Spain by modulo4arquitectura

Wednesday, October 31st, 2018

Article source: modulo4arquitectura

The project was commissioned to design a house for 1-2 people in a commercial space located on the ground floor of a residential building of four floors, addressing its realization through comprehensive reform.

The construction of the building in which it is located dates back to the year 1970 and is representative of the architecture of the time, presenting a facade free of superimposed ornament whose composition is resolved by the construction elements themselves. On both sides adjoins residential buildings of more traditional architectural language, coexistence of styles that can be seen along the street, located in the heart of Triana. This being one of the most representative of the most traditional Seville, with low-rise buildings for housing and specific small-scale shops on the ground floor of them.

Pastel Rita in Montreal, Canada by APPAREIL Architecture

Tuesday, October 30th, 2018

Article source: APPAREIL Architecture

APPAREIL Architecture rose to the challenge of designing a Mile-End café-boutique overflowing with colors and daring. The 1500 square foot space houses a café, artisans’ workshops, and a boutique space where local creations are showcased.

In approaching the APPAREIL Architecture firm, the couple who owns the space, Gabriel Malenfant, member of the band Radio Radio, and Véronique Orban de Xivry, founder of the brand Bouquet, wished to create a hybrid space that combined a café with a workshop-boutique. This unique collaborative spirit is expressed in APPAREIL Architecture’s proposition through overlapping spaces which allow customers to gain an exclusive glimpse at the creation workshop, all while enjoying a coffee.

The Rio Vista Residence is a 2,160 square foot single-family residence located on a cliff overlooking the Trinity River and downtown Dallas. The site is situated on a cul-de-sac in an established neighborhood and has panoramic views to the north. The existing topography forms a natural clearing for the building in the center of the site with native trees to the south, east, and west.

Passive solar orientation for the residence is along an east/west axis with views and natural light to the north, morning light from the east, shaded breezes from the south, and minimal exposure to the west. Energy efficient building systems are paired with sustainable materials to create a high-performance, durable, low-maintenance home.
