Seven-theater cinema with cultural space, community center with concert space and dance studios, 342 residential units, a shared garden,bespoke artwork, and retail space Three residential buildings offering exceptional views of the great Parisian landscape anchor three corners of a mixed-use block. At the heart of the project is a cultural center for the new ZAC Clichy-Batignolles district in Paris’ 17th arrondissement: a seven-theatre cinema and a community center. These public volumes, anchored to the ground, give way to the public realm and are crowned with hanging gardens. Three residential blocks emerge from this base, climbing up to 50 meters. This simple distribution of masses effectively resolves the inscription of a complex program on a high-density site. Thickened facades permit a band of generous loggias around the residential blocks. Architectural precast concrete on the buildings’ facades situate the project within the material tradition of Parisian stone and concrete and gives each of the three buildings a singular expression from the ground to the sky: the twisted form with its torqued effect (sand colored), the chiseled bar with continuous balconies (in white) and the pleated tower with its progressive fold (in white).

‘It’s a landscaping solution,’ says architect of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Sandberg Instituut’s new building Paulien Bremmer as she walks through the completed facility. Its luminous, high and always unexpectedly connected spaces call for exploration and use and, of course, new work by art academy students.
Bremmer herself studied at not only Delft University of Technology, but also both the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the Sandberg Instituut. She received this design commission after an internal competition to which teams of students, lecturers and alumni could submit proposals. The Rietveld community and a professional jury both selected Fedlev, the design team that Bremmer formed with fellow Rietveld alumni Maze de Boer, Luca Carboni and Sandra Stanionyte; during the design process, more designers joined Fedlev.
Aiming to work in a multidisciplinary way, Fedlev created so-called ‘white spaces’ inside the design and called upon artists and designers from the art academy to fill them in. These subsequently designed components of the new building and of the redevelopment of the existing buildings. ‘We’re very proud of this,’ says chair of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie’s executive board Annelies van Eenennaam. ‘It also sends a clear message about our principles, giving art academy alumni some elbow room. It may be a little more risky, but this approach always produces unexpected results. We would like to see it applied more widely.’

In the initial conversations with Chan Han Goh, the director of Goh Ballet Academy, she identifies that ‘dance is not about luxury, it is about the work, and what is done in the studio,’ and that is why the architecture of the Goh Ballet Academy is stripped back and minimal, creating a focus on the technical aspects of dance. The former principal dancer of the National Ballet of Canada had begun her training in her parent’s basement and wanted her studio to reflect the modest necessities for training in ballet.
The House for Singing & Choir Performance Center is a performance hall and education center for classical choir singing located amongst the rolling fields of Israel’s rural area of Emek Hefer.
The House for Singing is comprised of a Main Concert Hall of 550 seats, a smaller hall of 100 seats, a recording studio, two rehearsal rooms – one large and one medium sized, together with a generous foyer area and office spaces. All interior facilities will be under one roof, whereas unique exterior facilities are extended outside the walls of the building, where there is a garden dedicated to Sound, Music and Singing. The garden will consist of various outdoor spaces suitable to hold concerts and performances, teach classes, and will provide a social place for families and the community to spend time.
1956: Raymond ‘Mondse’ Wollaert was a well-known and beloved citizen of Merelbeke. With his wife Germaine Willems, Raymond owned a butchery and a café. In the fifties he built the film theatre adjacent to it. This cinema was there upon transformed into the famous banquet hall. The name REGI was actually composed from the first names of the Wollaert family: R (Raymond), E(Etienne, son-in-law) and GI for Germaine and Gisèle (daughter). The cinema was opened in February with a big dance party. The next day, the chairs were speedily put in place for the first film Daddy Long Legs with Fred Astaire and Leslie Caron in the leading roles.
2017: Studio Regie is a production and post-production studio, searching for a location for film productions. The interaction and relationship between the current activities of the production studio and the history of the cinema were a unique perspective to work with.
Architecture is the result of a complex phase, such as the project. It is not a unique and linear process but it is based on the continuous review of multiple options available always keeping a critical attitude. This is a peculiar practice manner based on the primary role of the IDEA in the process. The act of DOING is also fundamental and researches a balance between the three steps of working on architecture: theory, order and the final outcome. Each one keeps the essence of the original idea and gradually becomes more precise and developed until the project reaches the realization. Theory is a synthesis in the making of the background made of models, references, words and other contributions coming from other disciplines, all weaved together.

Specialized in family portraits and loved for creating cheerful galleries full of happy families and couples, Barefoot is not just another photography studio: it’s a place in which memories are crystallized for the future – a bright, open future full of possibilities. Quarta & Armando designed the new studio, located in Shanghai’s Jing An district, to become the best possible background for collecting happy moments of people’s lives. In line with Barefoot’s signature no-frills approach in which trust is gained (and kept) by means of sheer quality and efficiency, the whole space is designed around one single element: a twenty-four meters long parete attrezzata (equipped wall unit) separating working space and reception space.

The house originally was commissioned in 1925 by a young engineer for his own family. The Tyrolese architect Siegfried Mazagg designed a masterpiece one of a few only as his life unfortunately was ended early by a car accident when he was only 30 years of age. The building has been granted built heritage of the highest grade some ten years ago.

The project is on the 24th floor of a recent built apartment building next to a golf course in New North Zone, Chongqing, which provides a good viewpoint of surrounding landscape. Owner is a young mar-ried couple, specially, the wife is a yoga teacher with a wish that one day she can run her own yoga studio. For this reason, we try to create a possible yoga classroom in their new home, hoping her dream realized earlier by this project.
AD GIN STUDIO is a high-end photography studio designed by GB SPACE. This project is located at block K2 JinXingQiYuan in Beijing. The total area of the project is 360 square meters. The space consists of two parts: VIP area and studio area. The VIP area is about 160 square meters, including bar area, conference area and two VIP reception rooms. The studio area is 280 square meters.
The inspiration comes from the photography composition technique of framing within a frame.
Designers seek to create multi-level visual effects in a limited space, recording people and stories in the scattered stacking spaces.
