Article source: Archinature Workshop

A children’s museum in essence should be a space that encourages children’s mind and produce a sense of discovery by playing. That’s why the concept of Labyrinth of Crete arises as the starting point for the Children’s Museum – Iztapalapa.

Neubau höhere Fachschule für Gesundheit in Luzern, Switzerland by Maier Hess Architekten GmbH

Thursday, June 11th, 2015

Article source: Maier Hess Architekten GmbH

The project seeks to initiate a pattern clearly identifying the hospital campus on Spitalstrasse. With already two buildings of about 35m height, adding a third one makes the pattern evident. An important benefit of the slightly higher than average structure is the – in our eyes very necessary – casualness of the surrounding space, that so could become more convenient and less tight.

Article source: TAAV Arquitectos

The building is located within a manufacturing plant, in that context; it situates a testing laboratory and an exhibition space.

The design seeks to establish an emphasis between the new construction and the existing facilities. The result is a solid and sleek object that distinguishes from its spatial context by the use of a dynamic geometry.

Metro Station in Sofia, Bulgaria by Radu DRAGAN

Wednesday, April 1st, 2015

Article source: Radu DRAGAN

Located in an environment that lacked strong marks, the Metro Station 20 should be a signal, a structural element of the landscape, it must be at its scale. We have designed a structure that is both generous and sensual, with a glass volume curves embracing the ground and reaching the underground platform level by penetrating light and vegetation. The structure consists of 27 metal arches on a plot of 4,00 m, of variable height and width, starting from the rail level. The height varies between 19 and 24 m and the width between 17,80 m et 30 m. They are connected by a secondary structure of metal tubes that support the triangular glass panels. This structure also supports the road that enters into the glass volume and will form a bridge of 105 m length suspended from the metal structure. In its central part, this bridge will be slightly curved to give greater height above the access platform.

Article source: Foldes Architects

Minimalist design meets everlasting intellectual values. Temple of books shaped into a long brick house in the side of the Big-Proud Peak, Hungary, from Foldes Architects

The project initiated by an intellectual couple, had a clear starting point, as highlighted to architects Laszlo Foldes and Peter Sonicz: “We own a length of books something like 100 meters”. The owners of the site had found the best location to retire from work and the noise of Budapest in a rich natural environment, at the side of the Big-Proud Peak.

K&K in Alpe di Siusi, Italy by noa* – network of architecture

Thursday, February 5th, 2015

Article source: noa* – network of architecture

noa* (network of architecture) add a cosy yet functional atmosphere to the new ski-rental and shop K&K located on the Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi, and outlines a comforting backdrop in the middle of the surrounding Alpine landscape.

The design of the interiors evolves along three contrasting materials: The warmth of the matured local spruce, the soft surfaces of the felt-fabric and the edgy metal furniture elements together aim to create a cosy and comfortable living room atmosphere.
