Spending hours in the car for a weekend out of Sao Paulo was not part of the plan for this couple, with a small daughter and a second baby to come. That´s how they had the unusual idea of building a second house in the city of São Paulo, as a leisure house, less than a kilometer from their actual apartment.
Goocha-sea food restaurant, Tel Aviv, is situated in the heart of very popular hi tech offices area.
In designing it we wanted to create a contrast atmosphere of design, breaking the cold steel and glass reflected from environment.
Along with major effort to bring the spirit of sea to that area of the city, Goocha’s design is an eclectic design, combines styles from traditional classic to new “used, second hand” style.

Kukumuku is a restaurant–theatre designed for families with kids and located in the heart of Vilnius city centre. The idea to open such a niche restaurant came up due to the fact that public places are rarely adapted to accomodate the needs of the youngest members of the families. It is a building consisting of two distinct adjacent and interrelated volumes, the housing itself – consisting of two storeys plus a penthouse – and a garage.
Although the volume, apparently, is being treated as a solid monolith, it is fully traversed, with vertical and horizontal voids, with the purpose of creating strong visual relations with its contiguous exterior spaces, and allowing the light to enter through the entire house.

The entry space and central conference area are wrapped in stacked homasote, to create a sense of mass and weight, a counterpoint to the light coming from skylights above. The workspace beyond is accessed through a door in the mass and reveals glowing workstations. These are encased in corrugated resin and perforated metal screen, creating a moiré effect around the desks.
Perched on a hilltop in a suburban neighborhood near Seattle, DeForest Architects designed this ground-up remodel to take full advantage of light and views while maintaining privacy from close-in neighbors. Timeless materials like oak, walnut, glass and steel combine with modern details to frame simple volumes filled with natural light.
Known for its inventiveness and hands-on approach to working with clients, DeForest Architects works throughout the Pacific Northwest, Northern California, and Hawaii.
The house, 57 Tivoli Road, is situated on a corner block in the inner city Melbourne suburb of South Yarra.
Formally one of a series of attached row houses of disparate & eclectic housing styles, the exposed corner site meant a protective building was required for both visual and acoustic privacy, and the design seeks to create an enclosed shelter for the occupants, as well as forming an architectural bookend to the procession of houses which precede it.
