The project has been commissioned by the city of Ordos. It is an open Buddhist temple located on the outskirts of the Ordos desert, an area that is currently used for meditation and religious ceremonial offerings, Mongolian Buddhist rituals dictated the design.
The everyday experience of the users is critically important for the hospital typology. Our proposal for a Jinzhou New Area Medical Center is located as closest as possible to the existing wing of the hospital in order to shorten the routes and form one integrated complex with that existing wing.

Daphne is a site-specific installation situated within the tunneled stairway that interplays with the notion of concealing and revealing the ancient interior surfaces of the tunnel leading to the peak of Pyrgos. Made entirely of self-supporting paper panels, Daphne creates an enclosure that intervenes the visitors’ perception of the existing conditions as a container of conglomerated memory as the paper panels age and take their shape accordingly to the local condition. The installation is part of Santorini Biennale of Arts that will take place until September 30, 2012.
Designed by J. MAYER H., the ‘Schaustelle’ or ‘show site’ will be a temporary pavilion and platform for the four collections housed at the Pinakothek der Moderne.

The Pinakothek der Moderne is due to close in February 2013 for renovation work and is expected to reopen again in September 2013. The temporary closure has been seen as an opportunity that will give rise to a makeshift exhibition building – the Schaustelle. Set up for the duration of the renovations, it will provide the four collections at the Pinakothek der Moderne with a lively platform to hold exhibitions, workshops, talks, performances, film screenings and video installations and much more besides. The scheme has been initiated by the Pinakothek der Moderne Foundation.
The following project commissioned by Holden Manz & FOCUS gallery Cape Town, situated in South France Massif de L’ Esterel, uses architecture to dictate and choreograph our perceptions of immediate contexts and environments.
The hanging platforms offer a rest for rock climbers, a pause enabling them to enjoy the views and environment for a longer period before setting off on their journey once more. The surfaces are partly embedded partly protruding from the existing rock face structure. A grid of borehole foundations injected into the rock face expand into the existing granite, clamping the main body of the structure into the façade.
General Manifold is an immersive architectural environment installed in the abandoned Federal Screw Works factory complex in Chelsea, Michigan. This installation was the centerpiece of a collective exhibition organized by the architectural collaborative Spatial Ops and students from their Meta Friche research seminar at Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

EXPO BOOTH was Design Initiatives stand at the Outdoor Lifestyle Hangzhou Fair, March 21-24, 2012 to present their Not Just a Chair furniture collection. Two wings curve out of the advertising wall with the company’s logo – the lower one becomes a platform to showcase the furniture objects, the upper one light up the exposed objects. The lower platform can be functionally used as a meeting table.
Located in central China, Zhengzhou is experiencing rapid re-development. Part of a broad scale master plan labeled “The Rise of Central China”; Zhengzhou is implementing a two part initiative: ecological and infrastructural development. Ecological development prioritizes the surrounding natural resources; forest park, scenic areas, wetlands/reserves, rivers/lakes & urban green space. Infrastructural development addresses an emerging market identified as “Logistics Industry”. Zhengzhou is to serve as an integrated hub for the import/export of goods and mass transportation which connects the east and the west.
The project is situated in the heart of the old town of Mestia, next to the newly built city-hall. Its towerlike shape pays homage to the medieval stone towers which are traditional to Mestia’s mountainside region. The facade is comprised of prefabricated textured concrete and large openings which offer a maximum of transparency.
A dramatic and elemental steel infrastructure creates the possibility for ultimate volumetric flexibility where the homeowner can customize spatial prerogatives. Rising 22 stories over the design district in Miami, Florida—Cube promotes its occupants to design their own domain with the possibility of connecting multiple cube modules vertically, horizontally, and diagonally in addition to creating double height volumes, garden voids and cantilevered living environments. Generated by desire and need rather than architectural assumption, the volumetric play of the building creates intriguing arrangements of solid and void— a true interactive architecture.
