EB apartment: details make it unique

Interior design and garden projects are projects of great satisfaction since architects can see the results of their designs in less time than what it normally takes to complete a building. However, interior design, when it is custom made, can be compared for complexity to a miniature building because it’s challenging and requires a lot of attention to details, even minute ones. This meticulous research of functional, aesthetic and emotional features makes possible to create a unique space.

Civil protection centre in Ritten, Italy by Roland Baldi architects

Monday, March 22nd, 2021

Article source: Roland Baldi architects

Architecture saves us: With the new building of the Civil protection centre Ritten, Roland Baldi Architects have designed a “common home” for the command of the Fire Brigade, White Cross and Alpine Rescue where they can operate smoothly and proactively across all areas of expertise.

With its simple and sculptural form, the new Civil protection centre Ritten forms a contemporary contrast to the rural and local architectural language typical of the area. The two-storey building, constructed according to the “Klimahaus” A standards, is integrated into the natural course of the terrain slope and communicates with the north-facing entrance area with the main road and the residential area behind it.

Tofino Beach House in British Columbia by Olson Kundig

Thursday, January 28th, 2021

Article source: Olson Kundig

Glass walls open the living area to panoramic views of forest and ocean, while two fireplaces on either end anchor the space and provide a feeling of refuge. Cantilevering the house from its base provides space for ferns and beach salal to grow underneath the glass flooring that runs the perimeter of the main room, giving the sense of floating above the forest floor.

Situated in a valley at the mouth of the river Vefsn, the town of Mosjøen provides an ice free and safe harbour close to Lofoten. Today the town is dominated by residential areas of detached houses in a strict grid plan.

The Bay Window house has four apartments designed for people who want to replace their single-family house with an apartment in favour of a simpler life. It has therefore been an ambition to create a project with apartments that have many of the qualities found in a single-family house.

Architectural Design Visualization for a Scandinavian Church by ArchiCGI

Wednesday, January 13th, 2021

Article source: ArchiCGI

This architectural design visualization made a big splash. Once the image was published on our website and appeared on social media, we started to get questions from our clients about how it was created. Which we totally understand –  half of the office fell in love with the render. Many marketers and project managers are using it as a desktop wallpaper now. Not to mention our graphic designer who set the image as a screensaver on both screens of his dual monitor.

Want to know more about the render? Without further ado, let’s learn the idea behind the architectural visualization project, the technique, and the process of its creation.

The Right Tools for the Story

The author of the render is Andrii Diachenko, senior 3D artist, and mentor with ArchiCGI 3D visualization studio. His goal was to show what CGI and photography combined can do in matters of storytelling and emotional marketing. And as any successful salesman knows, these are crucial. For information to be heard and understood, it needs to be wrapped in a good story.

Piezoelectric Loom Aviary in Jiangsu, China by Margot Krasojevic Architecture

Friday, December 4th, 2020

Article source: Margot Krasojevic Architecture

The design brief was originally for an aviary, bird-watching platform, and shelter in the Suzhou Taihu Lakeside National wetland park.

The main design objective incorporates the serenity of the environment with the characteristics of birds in flight. The building includes a high tensile steel loom structure that acts as a gallery for the resting birds. The primary structure is made out of a series of stainless-steel spine beams from which motors move and sway like plumes. The structure flutters gently as birds freely fly around the aviary, reverberating like a loom choreographed by birds in flight.
