FAMILY VAULT IN Elche, Spain by ESTUDIO ARN ARQUITECTOS

Thursday, December 19th, 2013

Article source: ESTUDIO ARN ARQUITECTOS

The funerary volume is located between the existing boxes of niches and creates a compact and dense piece of stone that completes the horizontal landscape of this area of the cementery.

A vault is created to preserve and protect the memory of the deceased people and, at the same time has to generate an intimate and quite space for the family. This way, we propose a dense box of horizontal tiles of grey stone which is externally perforated by only two hollows: the door and the cross.

Single-family home Teplice by 3+1 architekti

Sunday, December 8th, 2013

Article source: 3+1 architekti

Small piece of land owned by a builder that we were dealing with was kind of \”left\” in a rectangular pattern of local development.

The immediate proximity of large villas from the first half of the 20th century left psychologically and physically little space for wild experiments in architectural design.

HOUSE IN Monticelli Brusati, Italy by Studio Artec

Thursday, September 19th, 2013

Article source: Studio Artec

We like thinking about this house as a transposition on our territory of a Californian Case Study House of the 1950s and 60s. The structure is of course adapted to the local climate and landscape, but the spirit that generated this design is that of simplicity and of being self-confident with the place as it had been for those so famous houses.

Saturday, May 25th, 2013

Article source: 3+1 architekti

House is difficult to access, located on a steep basalt slope above the village. Garden is facing northeast. On the other hand there is a positive side to it –  an exceptionally beautiful view on the river. Builder feels a very strong connection to this place, as there used to be a small weekend cottage built by his grandparents.

Saturday, April 20th, 2013

Article source: Basarch

Existing green mound, protecting the open fields of the game preserve from the bustle of the road became a refuge for hunting lodge – a lookout, which replaced original technically unsuitable structure. Above all, the lodge provides necessary facilities for the game preserve, as well as becomes a place of encounters, whether with friends or of romantic views of the surrounding countryside.

Article source: Studio Zermani e Associati

The project creates a place of prayer closely connected to the existing reality in the historic hilly landscape of the route of the pilgrimage of the Romea road, still marked by the thirteenth-century stone sundial engraved on the wall of the ancient hospitale of Casa Faggi, located nearby.

Salmtal Secondary School Canteen in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany by SpreierTrenner Architekten

Saturday, December 1st, 2012

Article source: SpreierTrenner Architekten

The new school canteen of the Salmtal Secondary School in Germany was designed by SpreierTrenner Architekten (www.spreiertrenner.de) as a multifunctional building with the greatest possible flexibility. The space is used not only by children to eat every day, but also for special events such as music concerts, theatre plays or even Christmas fairs. This is why the main room was set out with a column-free square plan only subdivided by a mobile wall. The adjoining section at the rear contains all supporting facilities, such as a kitchen, storage space, toilets and staff facilities, etc. It has been set out with the option of extending it in the future.

The building is located near the old town of Cracow, in the calm district of detached houses, on the hill with beautiful view of Wawel and the mountains. The investor’s idea was that the house should be as high as possible because of the beautiful view, and preserve spatial relations between all floors with the largest as possible opening of the space.
