Article source: MODO Architettura + Design

We are in the heart of Livorno, in an incredibly seductive neighborhood: the Venezia district, with its canals that recall the unique Italian city of Venezia, the nightlife and the charm of a timeless neighborhood.

In this corner of the city there is one of the latest projects by MODO architettura + design studio: an apartment located on the top floor of a historic building that comes to life through bold choices that reflect the personality of those who live there.

Entering in the apartment, the protagonist is a long corridor on whose left side all the rooms develop framed by wide arched openings.

ReBar in Tokyo, Japan by Organic Design Architecture Studio

Sunday, July 28th, 2019

Article source: Design Architecture Studio

This renovation transformed part of a 33-year-old building in Shibaura, Tokyo, that once provided warehousing and R&D space for a leading electronics company. Design of the 150 m2 area was also undertaken to attract a future corporate tenant who will use all 1,380 m2 of the floor space.

A primary consideration was that any walls erected should not impede airflow of the central air conditioning, which suggested that we should approach the project by redefining the role of office walls.

The name Warehouse Market Tokyo ReBar derives from the rebar used.

Concept

Opposites rule: light and darkness create an ideal separation, so the same space can serve the two souls in Japs! – fast and slow. This was a 360° project that went from interior decor to branding, connecting every aspect: for example, the decorative motif in the logo became a graphic and architectural element, in a relationship of perfect symmetry between image and architecture. Now each Japs! restaurant offers a different Japanese specialty, effectively connoting the chain’s different venues and sparking clients’ curiosity.

Bamboo Office in Changzhou, China by BARBERIO COLELLA ARC + Angelo Figliola

Wednesday, May 15th, 2019

Article source: BARBERIO COLELLA ARC + Angelo Figliola

The Bamboo Office is one of the winners of the “1st International Design Building Competition”, promoted by the “Chinese Sustainable Design Centre” and the “China New Building Materials Design & Research Institute”. Barberio Colella ARC, in collaboration with Angelo Figliola, designed The Bamboo Office, a proposal in which architectural, bioclimatic and environmental aspects converge. The main goal of the design is to connect future employers with nature. This means that people inside the building can constantly perceive the passage of time and the flow of seasons during the year. In this way, who works inside the building or visits it can feel the synergistic relationship between architecture and nature. This object is pursued thanks to different architectural and natural devices. First, a double skin facade, which allows the optimal bioclimatic behaviour of the building during the different seasons, permitting the heat to enter during the summer and the cool air to penetrate inside the building in a passive manner, using benefits of natural ventilation. Inside the double skin facade, there is the “bamboo line”, which consents to control and optimize the glare amount, while permits the light to enter inside the building a diffuse way. The bamboo line also creates all around the building the sensation to work surrounded by nature, potentially reaching the maximum level of mental and physical comfort. Plus, an “inner green space” permits employers and visitors to live the green space not only inside the building but also outside it, creating an outdoor lounge area. This area is surrounded by high bamboo plants which shades the South side of the building during the summer, protecting the same from wind during the winter.

The Village in Villefontaine, France by Gianni Ranaulo Design

Sunday, March 17th, 2019

Article source: Gianni Ranaulo Design

The contemporary society understands the code of luxury represented by the black and white contrast. Hence, a place where luxury meets natural life and vernacular tradition, was the core idea throughout the design process of The Village – Outlet Shopping Center.

Located at the gates of Lyon, in the heart of the 2nd tourist wealth of France, on the highway of winter sports, “The Village” represents an exceptional potential, able to accommodate a very large clientele. This architectural complex goes against the traditional pattern and creates a gable roof style cluster of elements, bringing about impressive visual impact. Based on the “harmonious unity of tradition, modernity, and function”, this project creates a brand new luxury lifestyle shopping experience.
