The site is located at Aoyama in Minato ward, which is an area residential and commercial uses are mixed in Tokyo. The client couple sought to build a housing complex on the back lot of a dead end street, and earn their livings by renting a part of it. The plan was to provide an office for rent on the basement floor and a part of the first floor. The residential space for the owner is allocated on the second and the third floor.
The new €37.5m (£27.6m) Transfer Terminal at Arnhem Central Station in the Netherlands has now completed.
The station is the result of an ambitious 20-year project – masterplanned by UNStudio – to redevelop the wider station area; the largest post-war development in Arnhem. Backed by the Dutch government, this transfer hub rewrites the rulebook on train stations and is the most complex of its type in Europe. The station will become the new ‘front door’ of the city, embracing the spirit of travel, and is expected to establish Arnhem as an important node between Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. The new terminal houses commercial areas, and a conference centre and provides links to the nearby office plaza, city centre, underground parking garage and the Park Sonsbeek. The area around the station will become a place in of itself, with 160,000m2 of offices, shops and a cinema complex.
UNStudio’s design for Terminal 3 of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport was awarded 2nd prize amongst the shortlisted competitors Rogers Stirk Harbour and Fosters + Partners. Terminal 3 at Taoyuan airport is planned to accommodate 45 million passengers a year. UNStudio’s design challenges the accepted utilitarian approach to airport design in an effort to propose a new global standard for an efficient, sustainable, flexible and innovative terminal model.
Amhult travel centre was constructed and opened in July 2014. The building consists of a waiting area together with toilets, break rooms for personnel and a small kiosk. During the whole process, the aim was to classify the building according to the Swedish Green Building Council (Miljöbyggnad).
The architecture and design of the new terminal reflect the space-related status of the city where space launch vehicles are constructed.

New Rail Baltic Parnu passenger terminal is located next to Parnu River, in the south part of Parnu town. The current site is considered to become a transportation hub for all public transports in the near future. In order to use the full potential of the site and its context, as well as to preserve nature, the new terminal building will be located in the south part of the competition area, next to the future Rail Baltic railroads. The new location of the terminal building creates an imaginary axis of future connection between both river and overland transportation networks. Also, since the new terminal buildings is within walking distance from a drop-off area for the public transportation, it will also serve as a bus stop for city buses, as well as an drop off zone for private vehicles and public taxis. Therefore, the new location of terminal building will become the central junction for all transportation networks.

The extension of the terminal of Eindhoven Airport and the new hotel Tulip Inn Eindhoven Airport, both designed by De Bever Architects and KCAP Architects&Planners, were officially opened in 21 June 2013. De Bever Architects and KCAP together with NACO as the ‘Constellation’ were also responsible for the first terminal built in 2005. The extension consists of a new 2.000 m2 entrance zone with additional retail, bars and restaurants on the ground floor, a 2.700 m2 extension of the arrival hall and 2.700 m2 of offices on the first floor. The 8 storey hotel offers 120 hotel rooms, a bar, breakfast space and fitness facilities; a restaurant and meeting rooms are offered within the terminal building.

In continuation of the study of vector based geometries, the Hong Kong Ferry Terminalis a proposal that demonstrates the aesthetics of vector curvatures and natural parameterization. The formulation of forces and arcs give rise to multiplicity in Euclidean geometry around a given set of parameters. Due to the magnitude and direction of layered line segments, the connecting lines generate varied degrees of arcing paths and surfaces, from simple to the complex. The increase in variables may restrict or give rise to excessive deformation in reasoned geometric expression. The intention behind the ferry terminal is to focus the current modes of curved vector tectonics and apply its discourse into the synthesis ofthe body or shell of the building.
