Moment Factory is helping Super Bowl Boulevard come alive with a spectacular multimedia show projected on the outdoor façade of Macy’s Herald Square on the evenings leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII. Following the success of multimedia shows Moment Factory created on Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia and the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall, as well as their visuals for Madonna’s Halftime Show during Super Bowl XLVI, the company was approached by the NFL and world-renowned event organizers PPW to create Super Bowl Virtual Theater in the heart of New York City.
A bowl that morphs into a dome that morphs back into a bowl… The bowl is a theater — the dome a café, restaurant – the warping of dome into bowl & vice versa makes a playground. Light glows up fromthe bleachers & down from the dome; water pours down the shell of the dome.
As part of a team, schmidt hammer lassen architects has won the competition to design Vendsyssel Theatre and Experience Centre in Hjørring, Denmark. With this 4,200 square metre building, Hjørring gains a vibrant cultural hub in which to feature the city’s various cultural activities. The winning design was submitted by a team including schmidt hammer lassen architects, Arkitektfirmaet Finn Østergaard, Brix & Kamp, ALECTIA, Gade & Mortensen Akustik, AIX Arkitekter, Filippa Berglund scenography, and LIW Planning.
The design for the Theatre Spijkenisse focuses on the placement and orientation of the building in the urban location, whilst simultaneously providing architectural solutions for programming needs and public access.
Traffic flows play an important role in the organisation of the building. Access routes to the theatre form an essential artery for the city, with the theatre providing a point of recognition for returning visitors and functioning as a visiting card for the city as a whole.

A fully-functioning theatre made entirely from locally-sourced re-usable or recyclable materials will go up in the grounds of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) in Cardiff this September as part of the first UK-hosted edition of World Stage Design.
A LONG WAITED MIXED-USE AND ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX BY THE AEROPORTS DE PARIS
The Paris area airport – Charles de Gaulle – has become the first airport hub in continental Europe because of its advanced technology, its flux of freight and travelers, and its inestimable potential for growth.
Originally built in 1935 by the Federally funded Works Progress Administration (WPA) program, this 4,500-seat outdoor amphitheater is located in a dramatic ravine overlooking Santa Barbara. It provides a full range of music shows, including classical, pop, country-western, blues, jazz and rock and roll. In the 1980’s, changing performance requirements, the impact of amplified sound and traffic, and increased residential density surrounding the amphitheater led the County Parks Department to undertake a master plan to address these challenges. Through an interactive community workshop process, Handel Architects was selected to lead a design team to create a detailed master plan to address each of the major issues. This master plan has served as a blueprint for all subsequent maintenance and operational endeavors, fundraising plans for capital improvements, and also served to minimize ad-hoc changes that had occurred in the past.
The brief called for two lecture theatres, one larger (300) than the other (150), together with a larger multifunctional foyer/exhibition/function space. This lead to the conception of 2 respectively contrasting metaphysical conditions to generate architectural form:
Modern design with functionality and sustainability
The ceilings and walls inside the Qatar National Convention Centre are clad with 6,000 m² of architectural wire mesh made by Haver & Boecker. To meet the exclusive requirements of the room’s ambience, the designers chose bronze wire mesh. The high-quality aesthetic of the architectural mesh, as well as the excellent long-life properties, non-flammability, easy maintenance and recyclability, made choosing Haver & Boecker wire mesh an easy decision for the client.
