We organized the space of JETRO’s exhibition booth for the Maison&Objet international trade fair held twice a year in Paris, France. The “J STYLE+” joint exhibition booth sponsored by JETRO gathers products from 16 companies selected by members of the Japan-France selection committee. Under the concept “Everlasting: Miscellaneous everyday use goods whose existence shines in our daily lives,” and strived to make a booth with a presence that will stand out even in a different culture by following Japanese qualities and keywords, such as the “Spirit” of the time, “Ease” and “Elegant Cuteness.”

The New Milan Trade Fair is an impressive construction, with a 5-kilometer perimeter and a 1,000,000 m² built surface that rises on a 2,000,000 m² land surface.

The New Trade Fair is made of eight big monoplanar and biplanar pavilions that, together, make a gross expositive surface of about 345,000 m², plus 60,000 m² outdoors. The whole route is on two areas, the one of the East entrance and the one of the West entrance. All the accesses and the exits to the Fair are organized through them. The buildings have got different functions (services, snack points, offices, hotel, commercial gallery, receptions of the pavilions, smaller expositive spaces). The placement of the buildings on the central axis is on different surfaces among water pools, green areas and epoxy resin floorings.

Trade Fair Centre in La Spezia, Italy by MMAA Architects designed using Vectorworks and Cinema4D

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

The new expo pavilion has been built in a former industrial area previously occupied by a pasta factory. The building, which features a coated iron structure and envelope made of titanium-zinc panels and vast glazed surfaces, takes the form of a long parallelepiped, folded over on itself, that soars up from the ground, jutting out sharply at the end to shelter the entrance facing the pre-existing multiplex. The shape of the building is based on the idea of creating an architectural promenade that unfurls from the highest point of the building, through an exhibition space, down to the bottom.
