The State University of New York at New Paltz needed to expand its 1970 Student Union building by providing informal gathering spaces for students. The existing Student Union building was designed as an isolated cellular office building and did not have space for student collaboration or congregation. In addition, the University wished to change the overall appearance and presentation of the existing building which conveyed an uninspired institutionally functional appearance at the gateway to the university.
I used to live in a college for so many years. There the students were distributed in sunny rooms or darkness rooms. Due to I never got the needed status and college prestige, I could never be moved to the sunny rooms. It seemed that students from these sunny rooms were happier and with better color as we used to have painful look.
In the last decades of the nineteenth century, thanks to the Comillas Lord, the town became a hub of the incipient Catalan Modernism. The seminary began with some sketches of Jesuit and Engineer Miguel de Alcolado, later on Joan Martorell and Lluis Domenech i Montaner started to work in the project giving the building the monumental and desired style.

The plan was adopted by the Regents of the University of California in March 2009.

The design for the Arizona State University Polytechnic transformed a decommissioned airbase into an inviting pedestrian campus that celebrates the desert landscape and creates a new identity for the program. Located in Mesa, about 30 miles southeast of Phoenix, the ASU Polytechnic campus was formed in 1996 with 1,000 students occupying re-purposed buildings of the former Williams Air Force Base.
The Botnar Building, which houses IMRIC – the Institute of Medical Research Israel Canada, is a unique facility of laboratories designed for current standards of microbiology research. In addition, the building provides auditorium spaces and seminar classrooms for the Hebrew University School of Medicine.

The School of Mechanical Engineering occupies the south east section of the University of Be’er Sheba main campus. The various buildings of the School of Engineering are arranged according to the Master Plan of the campus to define a small independent cluster along the pedestrian axis that leads directly to the University Train Station.
SITE | the articulation of the building with its environment
The site, situated on the campus of the University of Versailles, falls within the historical district of the Château de Versailles which imposes, amongst many constraints, minimal building heights. The campus itself is a historical domain having been the property of the car manufacturing family Panhard. In the nineteen sixties, buildings on campus were built around the « historical centre », constituted by the Panhard pavilion and its gardens. Devoid of any particular character, these structures do not impart a strong identity to the campus.
In an objective of sobriety and obviousness, this building of 20 meters large associates three antinomics functions, (teaching, sporting room, car park) which overlap by strata and maintain their autonomy to gather into a coherent whole.
A work on permeability and successives spaces dig the matter, filte the light and open this “monolith” on the garden and the city.
Program: Unity of formation and research in mathematics: 1988 students, 820 teachers-researchers, research library, amphitheater, sports complex(gymnasium and sports room), housing, basement parking.
HAMBURG, GERMANY – In the Bergedorf district, the Laser Zentrum Nord (North Laser Center) pioneers the future of the German steel-construction industry. Here, students and faculty of the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg can explore how laser-technology can be used for cheaper and more accurate construction and welding techniques. Accordingly, the Laser Zentrum Nord itself rises from the ground in long, straight, laser-beam-like lines.
