This house has three elements very importants: 1. The developers: Joseba and María . 2. The situation, Gaucín and 3. The position, linked with the land and the amazing views.
Joseba and María are a very special partner. They have marked the character of the house. He is a renowned painter (sanchezzabaleta.com) who comes from Basque country to Gaucin attracted by the position and the views of the city. He needed a place to work and looked for an architect who understood his ideas of the lights and the space. The work developed shared the client and the architect ideas.

A-cero finish a new architecture housing project on the Mediterranean coast of Spain.
This house has been designed the distinctive style of the studio managed by Joaquín Torres and Rafael Llamazares architects, according to the design the evolution recent years with more sinuous and organic lines, this single-family house project is located in an exclusive residential area of the Spanish coast.
House ARM is a game of extrusions and sections, caching the natural sun light.
We understand this project as an exercise to get a good house, non expensive and functional, in a large enough plot, able to get all the client brief in only one level.
A three floor cubical volume is located next to a late XIX century villa. The new building is linked to the villa by means of a galvanized steel and glass-made set of stairs that allows the cast of indirect natural light not only on the villa, but also on the new atelier, marking the entrance point of both of them. The atelier is defined by a galvanized steel-made framework and by perforated slabs to allow the entrance of natural light. On the other hand, the villa´s terrace is meant to be a view-point on the garden, removing some parts of the railing by selecting the ground materials and filtering the sunlight with sunshaders, softening the transition between the inside and outside parts of the house.
The Born is a lively and authentic neighborhood in Barcelona characterized by different population and the most diverse shops. It has a heterogeneous town planning, laid down by narrow streets with old modest houses and streets with old majestic palaces, which have been renovated as a consequence of the tourism demand in this particular district.
In the fashionable maritime neighbourhood of the Barceloneta the streets, especially in summertime, fill up with crowds of turists and locals, looking for a place to have a good time. All the bars and restaurants have a huge number of clientele during that period, so that’s why important brands like Campari Group decide to open their doors directly to the public.
A new space, sheltered under a vaulted mantle, gives new life to this house located in the Elche countryside around -in the city of Matola (Elche) – warm and humid climate and dry and sunny landscape.
This architectural intervention on the top of a rationalist building dating back to 1936 is an attempt at updating a two-bedroom home from a series of underlying elements and restrictions befitting a long-established building.
In a single-family house we have constructed a marquee for sun protection in the hottest months of the year, thus extending the living-room connected to the outdoor garden.
The social charity institution Padre Rubinos was born in A Coruña nearly a century ago with a dedication to give shelter and asylum to the needy. Later it has continued growing and expanding its scope to nursery schools and the elderly. Now, Spanish architect Elsa Urquijo presents their new headquarter to us. This is one of the most important in the country in its field because it unifies a wide range of services (shelter, nursery, nursing home, etc.) in a unique architectural complex.
