“The composition of the project aims to solve, on the one hand, the program needs of the developer in terms of surface areas and location of different houses and, on the other hand, to give a solution to the different singularities of each project such as the orientation, the implementation of the buildings on the plot, the views or, as in this case, to locate the houses adapting to the strong unevenness of the plot. The buildings are placed on the ground, adapting to the topography so that they do not interfere with each other’s sea views and that some look out over the others, with the roof being flat and landscaped.
Banc Sabadell Space is housed in a 19th-century building, opposite the National Museum of Archaeology. The green area in front of the museum dialogues directly with the garden situated at the other end of the branch office.
From the outside, the window, raised above the level of the street, directly shows off the workplace, in an abstract, professional but sober environment. The large logo applied to the glass, designed by Mario Eskenazi, introduces a filter between inside and outside.
Other participants: Tasvalor (Installations), BAC (Structure), Graó (Furnishing), Mario Eskenazi (Graphic design), Ivana Rossell acústica (Acoustics), La Invisible (Lighting), Aumedes (Bill of quantities)
Hotel Parque La Paz on the southern coast of Tenerife required a thorough refurbishment. A constellation of problems amounted to a clear need to update and renovate, and included accessibility, rooms that had not been redecorated since the opening in 1987, and common and office areas that had inherited a series of deficiencies.
Our approach to the reordering was inspired by the unique importance of access, not only as an attraction, but also from a sensory point of view. We eliminated two rooms on the ground floor in order to link the reception area with the exterior. The main entry was planned to stand under a textile awning that reaches onto the street to welcome guests. The arrival ritual takes place upon ascending a gentle ramp under the pleasant shade. The welcome is crowned by a roped pergola that sifts light and lets in air.
Can we build on this hillside by depositing a single piece? To answer this question, the project is drawn as a very thin plate, 9 centimeters thick, which is folded respecting the unevenness and the regulations.
Garage, day area, pool and night area configure the descending sequence of the housing program. Front and side views are enhanced, understanding the space as a mechanism that captures the surrounding landscape, as a shady place from which to enjoy Ibiza.
Due to the pandemic installed in our country at the beginning of 2020, the decision was made by the municipal government to adapt its facilities to the new normal. As a consequence of this situation, it is intended, above all, to guarantee the safety of both workers and users outside the facilities. In this way, we seek health solutions that minimize the impact of the virus on the relationships and procedures that will be carried out within the city council. To do this, we try to find the best design and technical options.
An example of this is forced ventilation to prevent the virus from staying in space as much as possible. Thus we generate a false metal ceiling where we locate the ventilation and air conditioning installations.
The design studio Masquespacio reinterprets for Roca Tile the classic Greco-Latin elements in Infinite Majesty, a surprising, evocative and oneiric booth.
Roca Tile will be present in this new edition of CERSAIE –the international exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings-, with Infinite Majesty, a majestic and surrealistic space that oversteps perspectives and standards with chromatic and material combinations.
Roca Tile’s location has changed to Hall 36, Stand A38-B43, along with other large international brands in the sector. Roca’s presence in this edition of Cersaie invites us to pause and listen to the walls in the space, and get lost in the curves and lines of its perfect geometry.
Located in a suburban area of Madrid characterized by single-family houses, the 800 sq. m. plot and urban regulations allowed the construction of three semi-detached houses. Instead of this, a three-story building with one house per floor is proposed. Compared to the characteristic semi-detached houses of the neighborhood, with small floor areas and organized in three and even four floors, this building alternatively proposes spacious houses organized on a single floor with large terraces, XL windows, and a shared garden. Therefore, circulation and server spaces are eliminated (stairs, corridors, distributors, and foyers) and the entire surface is gained for living areas.
The NIU project arises with the purpose of innovating construction systems to increase precision in the materialization of architecture. Deadlines and certain costs that improve the quality of human environments, making them more sustainable and healthy.
The N70 is the smallest model of the NIU project. The wet areas in which all the facilities are located divides the day zone from the night zone.
A new version of a known typology that continues to fascinate us.
In “Blackout”, SpY proposes the inallation of a black here with a diameter of 15mt to be located in the central oculus of the Logroño intermodal ation for “Concéntrico 07” Logroño’s International Feival of Architeure and Design. The oculus in their architeural origin had the funion of windows or as a passage of light. Etymologically, the word derives from the Latin expression “ochulos” which literally translates as “eye”. In the Neolithic period it was interpreted as a symbol of the gods’ conant vigilance and aention to the aions of human beings.
With the feeling of opening a chapter in the history of the German kitchen brand, softness, details and warmth mark the new image of bulthaup Sant Cugat (located around 15 kilometres from Barcelona). Its new interior, more intimate and personal, is the result of the collaboration between the designer Francesc Rifé and the showroom’s owner, Caterina Masferrer.
“The idea behind the new design is to evoke family warmth and take the project towards a more domestic concept,” they explain. More like a home than a business, more private than exposed, closer than impersonal. To achieve this, serene materials and a warm chromaticism have been selected rooted in the identity of bulthaup. The natural or stained oak in different tones is balanced with the concrete floors, while the neutrality of the walls and concrete ceilings shape most of the space.
