INTERCITYHOTEL was founded in 1987. The long-established German company is known for its good locations – primarily in Germany. Starting from 2017 the interior design is created in Italy by Matteo Thun and his Milanese team – with natural materials and soft colours. It generates lightness, generosity but yet privacy.

On the outskirts of the East Westphalian city of Halle the car dealership Ford Hagemeier has taken a big step towards expansion with the construction of a new vehicle hall. With this tripling of the exhibition area it will now have the opportunity to present both the commercial vehicles and the cars from the range of Ford products, oriented towards their target customers. The old vehicle hall will be converted into a performance centre where more sports-oriented vehicles will be exhibited. The new structure, on the other hand, is designed for vehicles that are intended for families and older persons as well as special offers for bargain hunters. The client wants the focus of the buildings towards different customers to be reflected in their architecture. This is why the new vehicle hall will be given a warm atmosphere with the use of wood, which seems to better correspond to the mental conditioning of the defined target groups and that contrasts with the more technical appearance of the old building, which was constructed in 2001 in the style of the Ford store concept.
The 25hours Hotel has found its new home in Munich, in the magnificent building at Bahnhofplatz 1. The listed structure was built in 1871 in the Renaissance Revival style. In the last century, it served as a building for the postal service and was the home of the royal telegraph station. During the war, the building was almost completely destroyed; however, it was rebuilt according to its original appearance.
DIA – Dittel Architekten has developed, designed and implemented the first of 10 stores planned in Germany for Mußler Beauty by Notino. The concept aims to bring the online-offline brand symbiosis to life in this space whilst promoting and expanding customer loyalty. Mußler Beauty, Stuttgart’s traditional perfumery, and Notino, Europe’s leading online retailer for beauty care, merged to benefit from their expertise in stationary and online trade.

World’s first public net-surplus-energy building—it generates more energy than it consumes.
The new building of the first construction phase of the new town hall in Freiburg im Breisgau with its administration center and day nursery is the world’s first public building built to the net-surplusenergy standard and accommodates the 840 employees of the City Administration under one roof after they had previously been spread over 16 different sites throughout the city.
An architect and a textile designer have created a sanctuary in a listed Wilhelminian building in a sought-after location on the edge of Stuttgart’s city centre. Their new apartment stretches over two floors with an unusual tapering floor plan that resembles a slice of cake. The 290 m² have been transformed into a vibrant cabinet of curiosities, filled with mementos and inspirational pieces, which they have collected or sourced on their travels.
KAAN Architecten has won the competition launched by R&S Realty II, to design the facades of three new office buildings for iCampus www.icampus-muenchen.de in the Werksviertel district of Munich. Works will start in 2020 and be completed by the end of 2022.
Located in a former industrial and commercial area behind the Ostbahnhof train station, the new development strives to blend existing industrial and office buildings with a new contemporary layer, dedicated to the creative industry. The Alpha, Beta, Gamma buildings, whose structure and floorplans have been designed by RKW Architektur +, will not merely rely on standard and strict German office rules to define their architecture, but will also express transparency and encompass lofty spaces that clearly represent the creative industry of the 21st century. The facade design by KAAN Architecten will underline and support the identity of the buildings to consolidate and unite the Werksviertel aesthetic, while at the same time being iconic within its own right.
The striking twin tower shapes the skyline of Frankfurt’s Ostend
The design of the Viennese architectural studio Coop Himmelb(l)au for the new premises of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt combines the horizontal structure of the landmarked Grossmarkthalle with a twisted double tower, which rises to 185 meters. United by an entrance building, these two elements form an ensemble of special architectural significance. Featuring bridges, pathways and platforms, the glass atrium between the two highrises creates a vertical city. The semi-public and communicative functions are located in the former Grossmarkthalle. The exceptional atrium and visible steel support structure show that the ECB building belongs to an entirely new typology of skyscrapers.
