Wein & Wahrheit in Sulzbach, Germany by Ippolito Fleitz Group GmbH

Friday, June 8th, 2012

Article source: Ippolito Fleitz Group GmbH

The Weinkellerei Höchst has opened a second wine shop in the new extension of the Main-Taunus Centre. The new store boasts a floor space of 80 m². The task was to present its range of over 600 different wines and spirits, delicatessen items and gifts within this compact space. The wide range of wines and the retailer’s extensive wine knowledge are highlighted here in a sensual setting intended to animate passers-by to purchase. Therefore the first impression from the outside is one of undiluted wine expertise. Resembling a library of learned tomes, wine bottles fill the store from floor to ceiling along all three interior walls. A mirrored ceiling band running around the edges of the space further multiplies this effect in the vertical. Within the mirrored ceiling a canopy of glass vessels is suspended, forming a strong key visual. The light breaks in them like candlelight reflected through a glass, giving this otherwise modern setting the atmosphere of a wine cellar and conjuring up associations of epicurean indulgence.

When approaching the building via the access road an in-depth layered picture is discernible. The northeast side of the house is an addition/a combination of white cubes. Each of them is recognizable as an individual structure when viewed from close up, but seen from a distance, they merge to form a unified whole.

Apartment building complex in Germany by Ambrozoom3D

Friday, June 1st, 2012

Article source: Ambrozoom3D

The project was realized in summer 2011 for a media agency in Germany. As the architecture of the buildings, the brochure layout was clean, simple, minimalist but very elegant, contained only white, grey and a gold print colors, so the visualizations had to integrate perfectly into the design, maintaining the realistic look. Ambrozoom3D realized 8 perspectives (2 for each building, one bird eye and one general south view), and 24 floor plans for each apartment. The floor plans also had to be integrated into the brochure, therefor keeping a minimalist look, with few textures and each of them had to contain some decoration in gold.

Steckelhörn 11 in Hamburg, Germany by J. Mayer H. Architects

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

Article source: J. Mayer H. Architects

The project “Steckelhörn 11” is located in the old centre of Hamburg, close to the prominent new “Hafen City” development. It replaces a ruinous building and fills the gap between two historic premises. The triangular-shaped lot stretches across the city block, thus allowing for a narrow façade of about 1.3 m width facing the harbor and a main elevation of about 26.4 m oriented toward Steckelhörn street. The vertical design and soft setbacks of the latter pay tribute to the massing of the surrounding structures, as well as to local building-height regulations.
