The building where team accommodations, changing rooms and office premises are located, were designed for the Golf Club.
The Golf Club is located at an absolutely unique place, close to Peterhof, just opposite the Mikhailovka manor house. The Club’s territory is surrounded by astonishing landscapes and monuments of architecture. The Club’s building is not massive, but it incarnates the general idea and the style of the Club to the full. We offered the stylistic direction that emphasises contrast between historic styles of the surrounding and contemporary pseudoclassic architecture of buildings. We were intended to highlight the idea that the Club is totally modern and focused on active people. At the same time it should be in harmony with the surrounding idyllic landscape. Our goal was to create temperate and austere image that was intended to be expressive at the same time.
In recent years Moscow has developed a taste for the so-called speakeasy bars: “secret” drinking venues where you need to be acquainted with the owner or, at least, a regular to get in. The entrance to one of these is hidden within the inner courtyard of a XVIII century building in an historical neighbourhood situated centrally. The rules of the speakeasy genre require the absence of a sign, so only those who know where to go would find the way. Eight steps down a ladder, that also serves as a storage for cocktail ingredients, and a visitor finds himself in a two-room clandestine underground venue, ironically called the Public Bar.
Our client spent her whole childhood in this apartment, and we were to make it Home for her and her husband. It makes a great difference between reconstructing an old apartment and working with a new one, where you should simply customize and personalize an empty box. In this project the space, originally, was not empty, but was full of memories and emotions. This is exactly the case when you are facing a dual task — you should keep the memories skipping some them and adding something new at the same time. A lot of our spatial decisions were based on this very idea of duality.

The success of Pioneer, the summer cinema at Gorky Park, is triggering a wave of interest from Moscow’s other major parks, as memories of this once hugely popular form of outdoor entertainment revive.
A summer cinema opened in Fili Park (one of the city’s biggest public parks, stretching over 200 hectares along the Moscow River) in spring 2014. Uniquely, its design is fit for use in other places: the cinema has a ‘kit’ design that can be adapted to the needs of any particular park.
The architecture of this private house is a synthesis of natural materials, such as stone and wood, and simple geometric shapes. The façade’s modern design combines stone and wood: the exterior finish, featuring warm shades of travertine and larch, completes the image of an inviting, cozy and modern country home.
To transform the elongated building of the former cinema into a contemporary theatrical platform in which any part – be it the hall, foyer or staircase – can be used by a stage director while simultaneously conforming to the demands involved in restoration of an architecturally significant building as well as the needs of modern technology, which are often mutually exclusive.
Solution:
The main principle of the «Electrotheatre» concept is the transformability of spaces and the openness of internal processes. Mobile barriers divide the technical and public zones, and the functions of these zones can be interchangeable.
