The objective of the project is the construction of eight terraced houses in line and a single-family housing isolated with a common space that unifies these buildings.
The important topographical elevation presented by the plot is undoubtedly one of the biggest conditions of the project.
Our challenge was to create an emblematic space for the electric company INELTRON, out of a dark and narrow establishment, which would act as a corporate image, projecting a modern look to the future clients. We started working on the project by focusing on making as much wide open space as possible – most of the dividing walls were demolished – so that natural light from the courtyard could flow throughout the whole interior.
This project clearly establishes a two-way dialogue between the clinic and the square facing it.
Large, vertical, butt-joint glazed window panes without intermediate profiles flood the interior with a diffused northern light and completely open up the façade, allowing for the interior ceiling’s volumetric “game” – formed of prismatic shapes in shades of blue and white – to be viewed from the outside.
Gaila is one of Egue y Seta´s stylists / interior designers, and despite what they say about the “shoemaker´s son”, she´s been kind enough to share with us today the (fabulous?) looks of her very dear and private urban refuge, along with her “views” on general home decor.
The social charity institution Padre Rubinos was born in A Coruña nearly a century ago with a dedication to give shelter and asylum to the needy. Later it has continued growing and expanding its scope to nursery schools and the elderly. Now, Spanish architect Elsa Urquijo presents their new headquarter to us. This is one of the most important in the country in its field because it unifies a wide range of services (shelter, nursery, nursing home, etc.) in a unique architectural complex.
Alma Negra talks about an ancient stationery conversion in a wine restaurant.
The project aims to meet some strict conditions: a long and tight plot and normative heights that didn’t allow the preservation of the existing mezzanine.

The Real state market for rental housing is highly competitive, full of vices and most of its advertisement pieces sound like siren calls. None of these, nevertheless, lack explanation: Property owners are bound to invest with caution, they need to hit the target of the particular taste of a potential but undetermined client, but most importantly they seem to be obliged to prescribe furniture and finishes tested against the most indolent of lifestyles.
This is a hostel located in the town of Muxia, one of the emblematic points and reference of the Camino de Santiago, in its continuity and relationship with the Galician coast.
“THE ARCHITECT’S CABIN”
In this project we tried to build our “cabin” as a shelter capable of making us feel comfortable while we develop our work as architects. With this project, we tried to renovate a typical ground floor space in a building inside Ferrol’s 18th century’s historical center of. A narrow and elongated plot (5×16 m.), with a few sunlight hours.
The project rebuilds a small house just over 3 meters wide and 16 deep at the end of a block. It is located in the historic centre of this village of Costa da Morte.
The former house was a dwelling and a bar and it had a blind well oriented dividing wall.
