Modern Elegance at Swati Crimson In Ahmedabad, India by Prashant Parmar Architect | Shayona Consultants

Friday, May 19th, 2023

Article source: Prashant Parmar Architect | Shayona Consultants

This 1,850 sq ft abode for a family of 3 in Ahmedabad features an open layout with well-ventilated spaces that are closely connected with nature, put together with a graceful coordination of pastel shades, which not only adds flavour to the design palette, but also creates an ambiance of de-emphasized opulence.

Aptly called the Suave Suite, this apartment is an effortless combination of luxury and simpicity having 3 Bedrooms along with Family Sitting, Dining, and Kitchen. It utilises muted design principles, imbuing them with a touch of nonchalant elegance to make a statement of luxury, sophistication and rootedness. Natural tones and a clever blend of warm and cool shades, sprinkled with pops of colour, make up the palette of the entire home. A particular emphasis was given to achieve a minimalist, airy, and colour-rich home.

Sunday, February 5th, 2023

Article source: Prashant Parmar Architect | Shayona Consultants

The client approached us with the willingness to design a jewellery boutique at one of the prime locations in Ahmedabad, named CG Road. This 1500 sq. ft. carpet area boutique store is designed to be serene, with neutral white walls and minimal texture added by veneering furniture.

The main aim of the design was to amalgamate creativity, functionality, and practicality to provide a completely immersive experience to the client and the customers. It was to be kept in mind that the design should not only be trendy and refreshing but also maintain a certain degree of the classic timelessness the brand stood for.

Client Brief:

Set in a dense urban neighborhood, this small family home is situated on a quiet street in the city of Ahmedabad. With neighboring houses located very close, the clients main concern was privacy. However the outside had to be brought in too. This became the main challenge, to accommodate the extensive requirement of five bedrooms, but also to provide the house with maximum possible privacy while also permitting natural light and ventilation.

CIIE.CO Refurbishment in Ahmedabad, India by unseen architects

Monday, November 22nd, 2021

Article source: unseen architects

CIIE.CO is located in the new campus, adjacent to Louis Kahn’s old IIMA campus. It has grown from an entrepreneurship center to a Centre of Excellence in 18 years. With this evolution, CIIE.CO required a transformation to represent its current values & position as an epicenter of Innovation.

In the presence of the architectural legacy of exposed brick in the old campus to exposed concrete in the new campus, the transformation does not overlook the existing context but articulates it. The refurbishment of CIIE.CO honors the existing exposed concrete building while creating an identity for new development. The design brings much-needed freshness & energy, apt for a campus full of young innovative startups.

Gable House in Ahmedabad, India by UA Lab (Urban Architectural Collaborative)

Sunday, May 23rd, 2021

Article source: UA Lab (Urban Architectural Collaborative)

The residential mass is divided into two separate blocks keeping the Garden and Courtyard continuous. We developed a layout with open spaces running parallel to the indoor residential spaces. This also allowed for getting in maximum daylight and providing better cross-ventilation opportunities.

At the entrance, one is greeted by a play of a low height Gable roof and a narrow vertical double heighten space. Light is taken from above, which brightens the entire narrow space. Tactfully designed Scissor truss with sleek mild steel members holds the roof above and living space below. The Delicate scissor truss against the Simple bold tower, displays a contrasting and evocative Entrance facade set in the green open space.

PIXEL HOUSE in Gujarat, India by tHE gRID Architects

Thursday, June 18th, 2020

Article source: tHE gRID Architects

The antipodal requirements of privacy and togetherness drove the concept and development of this villa, which was to be the home of an extended family spanning three generations. With three couples and two children forming the members of the closely-knit unit, the design had to make room for seclusion and solitude, and shared areas that would allow congregations of different sizes.

Screen House in Ahmedabad, India by tHE gRID Architects

Friday, October 11th, 2019

Article source: tHE gRID Architects

Screen House is a beautifully integrated development that houses a large family and various age groups. It comprises three discrete spaces, each one serving the needs of sub-sets of the unit, yet linked in spirit and design.

The site is located facing north, with all other three sides abutting adjacent properties. Within this, the three main constituents — facing west, north and east — are arranged in a C, encircling a central green courtyard that actually functions as a common space; an open air living room. This is where the family congregates, to share stories, watch movies, read, and unwind.

MD Apartment in Ahmedabad, India by Studio Saransh

Sunday, July 21st, 2019

Article source: Studio Saransh

MD Apartment, located centrally in Ahmedabad, is the house of a designer, designed to meet his specific requirements. Originally a two bedroom apartment, it has been converted into a Studio.

Stripping the space bare was the first stage of design. This meant removing all the partition walls, existing toilets, the kitchen and even the flooring. There was a conscious decision of making a space that was minimal and at the same time, tactile. So a majority of the materials chosen were done so based on how well they age.

The House by the Trees in Ahmedabad, India by MODO Designs

Friday, July 21st, 2017

Article source: MODO Designs

The ‘House by the Trees’ is a gathering and retreat place for a Gujarati family on the outskirts of Ahmedabad set amidst the existing neem, chikoo and amla trees. The brief given was to have a spacious and open place yet addressing security concerns.

Our primary concern was to weave the house layout with the existing trees, resulting into some trees within the house courts and some trees along its edge and thus random location of existing trees defined the extents of the house.
