CLUM 23 – This villa is located within a quiet pine forested area, in the southern region of the Algarve, Portugal. It is located in a 4200m2 plot, and has a living area of 465m2, all on the ground floor, with garage and technical zones located in the basement.
The floor plan is organized along an L shaped geometry, from which it develops according to interior and exterior spaces.
The Olive Oil Museum, is located in Bobadela, Oliveira do Hospital and was a dream of the owner, António Dias, who had a collection tracing the history of the production of olive oil, from the time of the Romans to contemporary times.
The concept of space was designed as a metaphor, it should be an iconic image that people would easily recognize. The idea of combining the use of an iconic image with colors and shapes that integrate with Nature has always been present and thus the idea of the olive branch arose.
An actual interpretation of the Mediterranean Modernist Architecture in a balanced fusion with Portuguese Cubist Architecture references. A pure white minimalistic contemporary family house located at Quinta dos Salicos, Carvoeiro, Algarve (Portugal). Based on a natural organic layout design, the main shape (trapezoidal) of the building is following the plot’s itself shape and directing the different facades for the most efficient, sunny and pleasant views, in a constant open visual and physical relation between indoor and outdoor spaces (natural fusion).
A concept with pure straight lines, uniform colors (white), flat roofing (living terraces) and volumes shaped by the irregular angles and defined by the relation between light/shade over the irregular volumes setting. A building concept following an eco-friendly approach based on optimizing the climate and natural lighting/ventilation conditions.
A complete re-do project with special official built heritage department approval of a single family house, built on the fifties, with modern lines, and located in the heart of the historical center of Silves, Algarve, Portugal.
Located in the south of Portugal, in an area that serves as a transition between the Sea and the land. It is located in the village of Alcalar, a few kilometers from Portimão, where 5000 years ago was settled an important Prehistoric community.
The site landmark is meant to mark the wilderness and the boundlessness of the surroundings but should also operate as an instrument for enhancing one’s senses and setting a strong connection with nature. It essentially represents a frame for human existence and experience, shaped as a monolithic, pure volume, naturally emerging and merging with the rock.
The Pavilion has been designed as a modern day folly, is constructed of timber and glass and is located in the grounds of an existing detached villa in the Algarve.
Rethink Interiors’ designer Kate Long was involved with the design and supply of many of the custom light fittings that were supplied to the Conrad Algarve project. The Conrad Algarve is one of the most modern 5 star hotels in the Algarve.

Casa dos Terraços is a coastal house (with sea view) settled on a slope facing South, nearby the Carvoeiro village. The original building dates from 1967 and was inhabited as a holiday home. Mainly, the concept taken on its construction reflects an organic approach in its shape and relation with the nature.
