“Hyde Park” Residence in Amsterdam, Netherlands by MANUELLE GAUTRAND ARCHITECTURE

Sunday, March 17th, 2019

Article source: MANUELLE GAUTRAND ARCHITECTURE

The project consists of a total of 400 housing units located in Amsterdam, in the Hyde Park district, whose master plan was produced by MVRDV.

The 400 homes are divided into nine buildings that make up “thematic” houses, and are organized around a landscaped island core. Each house is the object of a different architectural work, in its colors, its materials, its heights, its volumes, etc. Overall cohesion has been maintained under this apparent diversity, in order to create a harmonious “village” favoring well-being together. This project develops ambitious goals in environmental terms and integration of new uses.

It will not only be the heart of the campus of ING and a high quality all-day dining option, but also a multifunctional space for the whole community. When completed, the building will play an essential role in this rapidly changing area of Amsterdam. Black Swan in Amsterdam, The Netherlands by Studioninedots

Friday, February 22nd, 2019

Article source: Studioninedots

Studioninedots presents Black Swan, the result of our research into Overamstel’s gradual transition from an industrial area to a characteristic, mixed-use district in Amsterdam.

All over the Netherlands, mono-functional industrial sites are designated as potential densification areas. Their often generous layout allows for specific interventions to generate the aimed urban density. With Black Swan we propose a design as well as a strategy for welcoming, bit by bit, housing and facilities to a permanently active work area.

Black Swan’s medium-rise tower is home to both workspaces and apartments; its base functions to facilitate creative offices, restaurant, bar and culture. At street level, Black Swan interacts with the existing Building B of the adjoining Kauwgomballenfabriek socially and energetically. Here, the pioneering residents and users collectively take care of the spaces within and around Black Swan.

Frans Halsstraat in Amsterdam, The Netherlands by Cantero Architecture

Tuesday, February 19th, 2019

Article source: Cantero Architecture

Renovation and interior design of the first floor of a traditional residential building is located in de Pijp, a neighbourhood in the centre of Amsterdam. Dutch residential architecture is characterized by deep and narrow spaces, thus creating a ‘through-flat’. This allows an apartment to have two main sides, connected to both the front and back of the building, hence two opportunities to relate to the exterior. One side faces a calm and narrow street of the charming capital of Holland, and the other side a magnificent interior courtyard of the building block and a private garden oriented to the west.

Article source: MVRDV

What was once a grey, isolated office location in Amsterdam-West will soon become a green, lively neighbourhood of around 750 homes, thanks to MVRDV’s strategic master plan for a former ING office complex. Located in the Amsterdam Brettenzone, directly to the west of the city’s popular Westerpark, the plan includes 12 buildings, 5 of which are also designed by MVRDV. The Box in Amsterdam, The Netherlands by KOLENIK Eco Chic design

Thursday, January 31st, 2019

Article source: KOLENIK Eco Chic design

Kolenik’s design for commanding 1000m2 Rotterdam penthouse takes exclusivity to a whole new level.

Interior designer Robert Kolenik was given the dream job of creating a design proposal for the Netherlands’ most exclusive penthouse. ‘The Box’ forms the extravagant focal point of the glittering waterfront Bay House complex, designed by Joke Vos Architecten, and set at the heart of the city’s vibrant Rijnhaven district. Developer Frame Vastgoed commissioned Kolenik to conjure up an exclusive, cosmopolitan feel for the 1000m2 penthouse to show buyers what was possible for this impressive space.

‘The Box’ is an ultra high-end apartment with an imposing storey height of up to 12 metres, two private lifts, several private parking spaces, and generous floor-to-ceiling windows offering spectacular views. Best of all, the interior architecture can still be adjusted according to the buyer’s wishes.
