Museum Paleis Het Loo in Apeldoorn, Netherlands by KAAN Architecten

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023

Article source: KAAN Architecten

After winning the commission through a public competition in 2016, KAAN Architecten undertook the renovation and extension of Museum Paleis Het Loo, taking cues from the layout and proportions of the baroque palace and its historic surroundings. The ambitious project involved the addition of over 5000 square metres of new facilities and spaces, a careful restoration of the palace, and a meticulous asbestos removal process. The newly transformed Paleis Het Loo now radiates the grandeur that befits one of the Netherlands’ most renowned and frequented museums.

View across the Bassecour towards the west wing and the entry pavilion. The Bassecour has evolved beyond just the palace forecourt, now serving as the roof of the new extension. The four-centimetre-deep ponds reflect the monumental palace while daylight permeates the water, casting a brilliant effect below, Image Courtesy © Simon Menges

Conference Centre, Corporate Campus Apeldoorn in The Netherlands by ADP Architects

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

Article source: ADP Architects

The central building of the Corporate Campus Apeldoorn, designed by ADP Architects, is the conference centre. The whole building is set up to stimulate interaction and communication.

As working in a green environment is the main concept of the campus the landscape literally continues in to the entrance hall of the conference building, so nature and architecture melt together in the heart of the campus. Standing in the tall entrance hall you can see the restaurant, and the 25 conference rooms located on different floors. The restaurant, seating 750 people, is spread out over different levels gradually stepping down towards the forest outside.

Futurumshop Apeldoorn in Europaweg 165, The Netherlands by AReS architecten

Article source: AReS architecten

On a prominent location on the outskirts of Apeldoorn we have designed a sturdy-looking business property for Futurumshop, a successful online sports retailer.

The building has some remarkable features. These include a huge glass facade across the full length of the building, the height of the building, the custom-made front panels, and also a wall consisting of 12 maritime containers. This wall acts as both a partition between the warehouse and the offices, and the general and technical services zone which includes a pantry, toilets, storage space and a conference room.
