OT House in Buenos Aires, Argentina by Speziale Linares Arquitectos

Wednesday, August 21st, 2019

Article source: Speziale Linares Arquitectos

The house is located in the northern area of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in a private suburban neighborhood. The lot has a strong natural component, because of the geography of the place but specially, because it borders a navigable river that communicates with the Delta del Río de la Plata. In this way, we seek to colonize this landscape as an architectural object that not only captures it but also proposes different ways of relating to it (through patios, water mirrors, lucarnas, running windows or punctual windows).

DaB House in Buenos Aires, Argentina by BAM! architecture

Tuesday, August 20th, 2019

Article source: BAM! architecture

The DaB House is conceived in a lot of limited dimensions on the outskirts of the city of Buenos Aires, in a green and open environment. The main challenge of the project was to generate an architectural tour that interacts with the materials and the light in contrast with the formal search of a very compact layout to optimize the square meters.

The program has been organized in two floors. On the ground floor the social areas are located, which have a direct relation with the garden, therefore they connect in a comprehensive and dynamic way by means of a wooden joint that acts as a nucleus assembling the space between both levels. On the upper floor, the private areas are located, which have a relation with the terrace-garden that acts as a viewpoint and as a space for contemplation of nature.

10 House in Buenos Aires, Argentina by LUCIANOKRUK

Friday, August 16th, 2019

Article source: LUCIANOKRUK

10 House is located in San Rafael, a gated community in Tigre, 30 km away from the City of Buenos Aires. The development's main asset is its lagoon, which baths the rear edge of the house garden, defining the most important feature of the commission landscape to take into account. Its surface is 907m2 with a front of 24 meters wide, which is reduces in the background to 17 meters and its depth is 44 meters.

The commission was made by a young couple that wanted to build a 300m2 permanent residence. They were interested in our studio’s aesthetic proposal, seduced by the low maintenance that the concrete construction system grants.

Their main aesthetic requirements were that the exterior facades should be entirely kept as apparent concrete, while white walls must predominate in the interior, contrasting with a few selected concrete elements.

C House in Buenos Aires, Argentina by Estudio PKa

Friday, August 9th, 2019

Article source: Estudio PKa

This beach house is located on the Atlantic coast of Argentina, 10 km away from Pinamar, and 500 meters away from the sea. The intention was to animate the house using a path passing through a coniferous forest, through patios which capture light and articulate the spaces. The project is developed on one floor where the central patio divides the house into two volumes, one for public use and the other one for private use. A second patio allows the connection with nature from the bedrooms without losing privacy, with a wooden enclosure that generates a rhythm of lights and shadows forming the main facade.

Basque Pavilion in Buenos Aires, Argentina by Estudio Galera Arquitectura

Monday, August 5th, 2019

Article source: Estudio Galera Arquitectura

A building at the back of an existing house and the re-functionalization of the own dwelling were the main issues of this project. Some basic operations define the search for a connection between the original building and the new one. A growing family, a change of uses and a fondness for gastronomy define the new program. The social area of the original house is projected by modifying the kitchen, storage and counter areas and secluding the play area in the interior. A small addition is used as a link between the pre-existing and the new in a search for a common language that does not look for adaptation or reproduction. At the back of the lot and amid aged trees, an isolated building is placed. This shelter works as a sewing room, photographic atelier, pool house with grilling facilities and, in some occasions, guest house. The pavilion is setclosing views to the neighbours, aligning accesses and creating a dialogue between scale, shape and materiality. The new construction rests on a high point of the sand dune and takes the levels of the original house. This creates a cantilever under the pavilion which works as an external play area revitalizing a space which was not used before.

Quintas House in Tucumán, Argentina by Etéreo Arquitectos

Sunday, June 30th, 2019

Article source: Etéreo Arquitectos

Casa Quintas is located in a gated community in Tafi Viejo, a suburb minutes away from the capital city San Miguel de Tucumán. The parti finds it’s roots moving away from all the modern architectural preconceptions of a typical country club house in Tucumán’s suburbs.

The first sketches were inspired by some sort of “Revival” on what was once the typical patio house. A large courtyard  is the center of the composition, connecting the spaces and interacting differently with each and every single one of them. Thereby the social area projected in a single large fluid space opens completely to the courtyard, while the private area’s relationship to it is more subtle allowing lighting and ventilation without putting intimacy at stake.

Toyota Centro Motor in Córdoba, Argentina by eeg architects

Monday, June 3rd, 2019

Article source: eeg architects

The project was developed in 7400 m2 comprising of two levels and the basement of an already existing structure, our proposal was centered around the remodelling and refunctionalization of the different spaces of the future concessionary; accepting the challenge of, through wise design and election of materials, reflecting the spirit of Toyota's brand.

Concept

The essence of the project defines its spaces by means of guiding axis, a great wall coated in ACM. The lights' apertures in the ceiling, together with the lines of light of the wall, both bring dynamism and create tension in the space, marking the road to the brand's future goals.

La Serena House in Córdoba, Argentina by Estudio Montevideo

Thursday, May 23rd, 2019

Article source: Estudio Montevideo

This time the challenge was to create a house, very bold clients showed up and proposed a different objective. A house to enjoy, relax and feel relaxed, “in the countryside”. The natural situation of the land and its vegetation were decisive for the geometry and the answers to the premises. Routes, sectors of visuals, noble materials, elevations, connectivity, visual continuity, the inn, the tower, relaxing situations, were several of the design searches. The architectural tour begins at the bridge to enter the work, we walk along the walkway that adapts to the situation of height of the land at its beginning to enter the house on the top floor. The “social tower” to be, cook, invite, eat, enjoy, is a pure volume of concrete, metal and wood. Horizontal and vertical connective spaces make up the circulations. It is located in the center of the field articulating the other sectors. “The posada” with its rooms, is a perfect space for rest, breaking through the trees rises from the natural soil to create a special situation of interaction between the bedrooms, its gallery and the green of the land. The pool that is in relation to these two bodies, is finally surrounded by the “bar” of the bottom that is at the same time a container of ship, forming the final milestone of the route of the house. The final composition of the volumes shows a relaxed house, decompressed between its areas but compact and dynamic in each of the sectors.

L House in Argentina by Estudio PKa

Tuesday, May 21st, 2019

Article source: Estudio PKa

This beach house is located in the Atlantic coast of Argentina, 10 kilometers away from Pinamar, and 400 meters away from the beach, where the sound of the sea is constant. One of the main premises was to respect the coniferous forest, along with the “L” shape facing north. It is developed in one-story with the open possibility to build a new floor on top (one of the patios sets the space for the potential stairs). This “L” configuration allows to separate the public area from the private, articulating these spaces through three patios which capture light. The house is introverted towards its front façade, providing intimacy as well as a sense of mystery to the passersby. A compact “box”, where the attention is stolen by the pedestrian ramp, which finishes in the residence's entrance patio.

Casa Nido is a single-family dwelling located in the province of Buenos Aires, city of San Fernando, a mile away from Rio de la Plata. The entire project was centered upon the premise to respect the Art Deco style of the existing house and to use a light structure over the new building.
The different spaces were designed in two floors, based on the possibilities and opportunities that the old building offered and always capturing the best orientation, not only horizontally but also overhead.
