Neu Leopoldau in Vienna, Austria by feld72 Architekten ZT GmbH

Sunday, November 6th, 2016

Article source: feld72 Architekten ZT GmbH

Smart environment for young and young-at-heart home living on the outskirts of the city in a post-industrial complex. Strategies for creating community: this starts with identification through the design and continues with the quarter’s connecting ring structure and the belt formed by the wall surrounding the property, with special communication areas reflecting the layering principle of the building. A residential building as smart module of social life: tiered and networked communal zones and communication areas create the village in the buildings, and special extra spaces for whatever self-development is to be defined in the surrounding homes connect the private with the (semi-) public sphere. A building as a very flexible structure able to inspire the imagination and joie de vivre.

House D in Vienna, Austria by Caramel Architekten + Günther Litzlbauer

Friday, October 28th, 2016

Article source: Caramel Architekten

In the neighbour’s garden, Densification can also be possible in built up settlement areas of one family houses. The property of House D is located in the middle of a block of buildings, which are surrounded by the local streets, and each building is part of the formation of a big wonderful garden right in the heart of the block. The generous building regulation allows us to build on all properties up to at least a quarter of the whole property area and thereby creates possibilities to divide properties and the densification of the green spaces.

Disco Volante in Vienna, Austria by Madame Architects

Saturday, August 27th, 2016

Article source: Madame Architects

The recently opened Pizzeria is the second of its kind hosted by Maria Fuchs, a vanguard in the recent “genuine pizza” hype in Vienna. The name “Disco Volante”  brings back memories of the James Bond villain Emilio Largo’s escape vessel. Also a famous car designed in the early 50ies carried this name (there has recently been a relaunch by Alfa Romeo). But in fact does the name of the pizzeria simply refer to its original meaning “flying disc”.

52 Cubic Wood in Mödling, Austria by JOSEP

Saturday, August 27th, 2016

Article source: JOSEP

52 cubic wood – produces carbohydrate (glucose) from carbon dioxide CO2 (which equates to 260.000km by car) with the help of the sun. Additionally oxygen is released in the form of breathable air for 100 years per person. This happens interference-free without waste and emissions, it‘s quiet and fully automatic. This is the beauty of the factory called „The forest“.

Morphing Graceland in Neusiedl am See, Austria by Söhne & Partner architects

Friday, August 26th, 2016

Article source: Söhne & Partner architects

The design for the luxorious villa near lake Neusiedl is not only named after the world-famouse home of rock’n’roll star Elvis, its style is also based on the imposing building in Memphis. The clients are extraordinary Elvis fans.

The front facade of the house is a postmodern plagiarism, which is morphed into a modern villa towards the garden- and yard-side of the building.
