The tourist information centre in Baden-Württemberg, Germany by DITTEL ARCHITEKTEN GMBH

Monday, February 26th, 2018

DIA – Dittel Architekten is responsible for the design concept as well as the planning and execution of the new Tourist Information Centre in Schwäbisch Hall, Southern Germany. The goal of the concept is to use the space to convey the city’s identity and allow this identity to be experienced through digital and analogue contents. Values such as service-orientation and the emerging cultural richness are incorporated into a modern design language, which goes on to form an exciting symbiosis with the traditional nature of the half-timbered building constructed in the 17th century. The area, which is under heritage protection, was completely renovated as part of the new concept. The Tourist Information Centre opened on 06 December 2017.

Drubba Moments in Baden-Württemberg, Germany by Ippolito Fleitz Group GmbH

Titisee-Neustadt is a peaceful small town in the upper reaches of the Black Forest, which has become a favourite destination for tourists from Asia. With its idyllic lakeside position in the romantic Black Forest, many appreciate how it offers a polar opposite to their urban, industrialised lifestyle. And of course shopping is now as important a part of any German holiday as visiting Cologne Cathedral or Munich’s Hofbräuhaus beerhall.

New surgical center Ulm in Baden-Württemberg, Germany by KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten

Saturday, July 14th, 2012

Article source: KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten

Light, bright and colorful: the architecture of the new Surgical Center on the Oberer Eselsberg in Ulm. The building was designed by the KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten Munich Office, having won the competition in 2001. The Surgical Center / Dermatology blends into the surrounding landscape and, with the “floating” ward block, also sets a distinctive architectural tone.

In June 2012 the six departments of Ulm University Hospital moved  into the new Surgery / Dermatology building with their patients. The medical institutions, previously scattered over various sites, are now brought together in the new hospital building which will further improve medical care in the Ulm region.  The Surgical Center provides sufficient space for 15 state-of-the-art operating rooms, 235 regular care and 80 intensive care or monitored beds. The building, which offers gross floor space of around 70,000 sq.m., was completed in four years within the scheduled timeframe and budget.
