Open House BIC in Bangalore, India by Aetrangere

Friday, October 5th, 2012

Article source: Aetrangere

It is three decades since Indian cities like Bangalore have witnessed an urban transformation. An urgent growth is taking place around the country and the Urban and Rural are transforming dramatically. It is not only the consequence of globalization but also due to the giant economic shifts from the west to the east.

Our proposal seeks to show a unique path to allow a soft transition of values from urban to nature and from modernity to local culture. We seek to install a landmark image which catalyzes the potential of this central site in the emerging Bangalore.

White Canvas & 22 feet in Bangalore, India by Kamat & Rozario Architecture

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

Article source: Kamat & Rozario Architecture

The Design took inspiration from the firm’s name – WHITE CANVAS is an independent advertising agency. A blank white canvas takes on the personality of the artist.. We drew an analogy to Absolut Vodka’s “Absolut Blank” Campaign” where artists were invited to express themselves on a blank canvas in the shape of the iconic Absolut bottle. The clean white canvas takes on different Avatars depending on the artists’ imagination.

This Project is shortlisted in World Architecture Festival,2011
Development and environment are inextricably linked and must be nourished by a change in the means, the content and the uses of growth. Three criteria€™s to be necessarily retained are: social justice, ecological prudence and economic efficiency. As the repercussions and downsides of the western culture and architecture are being discovered and the world is turning towards regional technologies – two definite categories of Development are emerging -one based on the principle of recycling and the other on the use of natural materials capable of being used without requiring industrial processing. Mud and BAMBOO figure prominently in the second category of Development. Bamboo is a premiere building material in the new architectural movement with Sustainability and Integrative approach as its two important criteria. HIGH SCIENCE AND SIMPLE TECHNOLOGY!

Sharma House in Bangalore, India by Kamat and Rozario Architecture

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

“Achieve a contemporary house with vastu compliance” was the brief for this renovation project.

The existing structure was a 30 year old typical Bangalore house with thick load bearing walls. Most of the outer walls were very close to the plot boundary cutting out a large amount of light. The neighbor’s house too was hugging the boundary wall in certain areas which cut off even more light.
