The school, with a planned gross floor area of about 700 m2, had to be placed on a very small site, of just 630 m2, situated beyond on an existing sports court that was intended as the school’s playground. The surroundings were formed by a football ground to the west and, to the east, by a sector of single-family dwellings separated from the school plot by an alleyway of just three meters wide.

Article source: Toni Girones

The archaeological site of Can Tacó in Turó d’en Roina, in the natural setting of  Turons de les Tres Creus. In a highly fragmented metropolitan area, arises the need to project some places previous an area with a great natural and archaeological interests.

Built by successive terracing and partly with site stone licorella, what had been an important settlement prior to construction of the Via Augusta, is today a natural viewpoint to the counties of Vallès. It intervenes in the backfill of Roman traces, improving the content (the space) and highlighting the container (the walls).

Beethoven Building Entrance and Lobby Area in Barcelona, Spain by Archit3ctum

Thursday, May 16th, 2013

Article source: Archit3ctum

The renovation of lobby and common areas of Beethoven building Barcelona was a particular challenger for our studio because we want to give a very new image to the interior areas, with the idea of a contemporary and technological place. To carry out our task, we focus on creating a neutral space where the use of materials with high resistance and metallic colors could mark the perimeter and indicate the flow of the course.

Municipal Sports Hall in Barcelona, Spain by Roure / de León arquitectos slp + Elena Moragas Rague

Wednesday, May 15th, 2013

Article source: Roure / de León arquitectos slp + Elena Moragas Rague

Municipal Sports Hall situated on a plot of Vacarisses suburban, small town in the province of Barcelona. Medium size typology, and conditioned by a narrow parcel, the project is solved with a peculiar situation of the smaller service pieces, and a great versatile cover that incorporates all the complexities of the project, plot, orientation, functional inter connection between parts, etc. An unusual final twist of the structure frame, solve the complexity of the cover in a quiet way.
