The Residential Cugat Natura Center is located in one of the most peaceful and exclusive zones of the city of Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona), enjoying one of the most privileged views of the Golf Club of the locality and a directly access to the city center.
One important aspect of this kind of project is trying to understand which kind of users will use this center, and the needs that they have. In this residential center we can clearly differentiate between two different users; on one hand, those who haven’t got any degree of dependence, and that would like to have in their common lives the facilities that a residential center offers them, and on the other hand, people with a low-medium-high degree of dependence who need to be looked after and handled by professionals.
Construction that consists of a self-supporting galvanized steel structure, parallel to the existing dividing wall, with ground floor plus eight levels above, accessed via a staircase, dedicated to include flower plants lining the facade, like a vertical garden.
The Green Side-Wall consists of a free-standing structure containing plants that form a protective mass of vegetation against a facade in Barcelona, thus creating a vertical garden.
The relocation of Sant Antoni Sunday Market needed a site located near the old Market, which is nowadays being refurbished by our office. Only hosting a sales area one morning a week, it was needed to put in place reversible solutions that do not alter the space in its weekly configuration.
On various occasions, we were asked to intervene in the most public areas of a lovely building dating from the 1950s (the work of the architect FrancescMitjans).
The entrance hall had been disfigured by a series of interventions that had rendered it complex and disjointed; we set out to clarify its function and its urban role.
The proposal aims to preserve and rehabilitate the old medieval Royal Palace and the chapel of San Pellegrino and to transform them into a part of the new museum. The building in between them has to be demolished and replaced by a new one which forms the keystone of the entire ensemble. The void left by the demolition of the building ‘Cal Pa i Figues’ will be partially occupied by the construction of this new volume, attached to the Gothic palace and of the same height as its tower. The unoccupied part of the void allows defining a passage along the chapel of San Pellegrino which gives access to the new main entrance. This solution reminds to corresponding situations in the neighborhood.
The building is part of a set of trapezoidal shape that creates a courtyard. The building is divided into two volumes, a linear and rectangular block disposed along the street Sas, and another L-shaped block resting on the road. The elevation of the street facade is formed by the articulation of the two volumes that define a gap.

The Hospital of Sant Joan Despí Moisès Broggiis a newly-constructed hospital aimed at providing service to a population of 300,000 inhabitants from the county of BaixLlobregat.
The organization and arrangement of the hospital within the site is determined by the hospital entrances, the orientations and the topographic conditions of the terrain.
Poblenou, a former industrial district of Barcelona, has been transformed in the 22 @ technology district during the last decade: a new model of compact city, where innovative companies co-exist with research, training and tech transfer centers, as well as housing, facilities, green areas and industrial heritage. Gaes, a hearing aid company in the 22 @, represents the case of an old Catalan industry in Poblenou that has become during the same period a multinational corporation with an industrial integrated model of research, clean production and marketing.
Like many towns in El Vallès, in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, Palau-solità has tripled its population since the 1980s and extended by means of single-family houses and low-rise apartment blocks. In this context, a public building may be designed to give the main streets in the fabric an urban, civic character or to fit in with the series of warehouses, shopping centres and franchises that form the periphery of this sprawling urbanization.
The Urban Planning for ‘Plaça de l’Església’ in Granollers intends to regain the role of this square within the old part of town.
Our plot is the key factor for the consolidation of this centrality, due to it occupies the space that gives continuity to Barcelona Street and connects with ‘Plaça de la Porxada’.
The three facades of the building become a single skin that, thank to the continuous use of the stone even in the shutters, unifies the volume and consolidates the characteristic predominance of the massive-wall facades in the old quarter.
