The project focuses on the expansion of a housing unit through the addition of two rooms obtained from the immediately adjacent apartment and the redefinition of the fixed furnishings of the bedrooms.
The new living space, removed any wall division, is redesigned through the introduction a double-sided and multifunctional furniture system.
This project is significant for its seamless spaces and ingenious cabinet making.
Michelangelo Olivieri has conceived walls as containing spaces, in order to achieve greater purity.
The kitchen presents well-defined volumes and cabinets which include all the structural elements, such as household appliances and kitchen tools, in a white and black palette that blends with the wood shades.
Olio is an experience, inside it everything is green an quiet. the intention was to involve consumer’s sight and emotions. he can see the chef in his kitchen preparing foods, he can feel sounds and cooking smells and at the end he can taste what he saw cooked.
The project aims to re-design a unit of a semi-detached house in the old town centre of Sammichele di Bari, Italy. The house, built in the early 1900s, consists of four levels with a basement and the attic.
The house for a psychologist, a nurse and their young daughter is designed as the extension of an existing one-floor building in the historic center of Polignano a Mare, in southern Italy. While the old tufo facade remains almost unmodified, the new volume above is clearly defined through the use of lighter materials: a double skin system – made of glass/aluminum large windows screened by steel and wood retractable panels – allows natural light in, while preventing heating.
Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas along with Jordi Henrich I Monràs have won the international competition for the design of the railway area “Baricentrale”. The international competition launched by the Municipality of Bari, aimed to promote the transformation of the city, using the reorganization of the railway area which has long acted as a rift that cuts through the city, as the starting point for its transformation. The site of the project stretches over an area of 78 hectares which is divided into 7 segments.
