The ‘Fabriek’, located on a corner in Schaerbeek bordering Noordwijk is renovated into the home base for the organisation Art Basics for Children. The location of the old industrial complex is characteristic of the friction between the corporate office environment of Noordwijk and the heterogeneous urban fabric of Schaerbeek. The underlying goal of the renovation of the ‘Fabriek’ is to allow space for ABC to work in this urban field of tension between the corporate and socio-cultural environment surrounding the site.
This compact house in a quiet neighborhood in Tienen . Proposed by the architects vision has led to a remarkable architectural appearance that attracts attention in the street but whose shape remains very simply.
Thanks to the total housing concept one could offer an answer to the limited budget and the not so favorable orientation of the land. To exploit the southwestern orientation to the street as possible, the architects swapped the “front and back “. That way they have a terrace and a garden , not to the rear of the house , but on the street laid out so that the living areas could be targeted. To the southwest in this logic to the traditional location of the areas to rotate, the front door to the back of the housing is provided.
KCAP Architects&Planners in cooperation with evr-Architecten win the architects’ selection ‘Tower Striga 1’ in Antwerp, Belgium. The selection commission including the client Triple Living and representatives of the municipal urban planning departments chose the team for the design of one of three residential towers for the project Antwerp Nieuw Zuid. This new residential area will develop along the Schelde in the south of Antwerp, based on a masterplan by Studio Associates Secchi-Viganò.
The new program includes: the seat of Brussels Parliament (PFB : French speaking part) and the restoration of the former Postal Relay (Renaissance 1694) as a polyvalent space. It would have been risky to chose the easy way by the creation of a mimetic building right wing of The Parliament or propose a dissonant solution with a draft bill only contemporary. Skope’s approach was different; inspired by the history of the place while assuming contemporary issues.
The architectural idea of the building is derived from an inside-out perspective, where the social qualities of the building are a dominant driver for the design: Often in tall buildings, the sense of community amongst the occupants is challenged by the fact that you hardly ever meet your neighbours, except coming and going via the lobby and at the lifts.

As a spin-off of IMEC, Photovoltech nv. became one of the most important European producer of multicrystal- line silicon solar cells. Photovoltech was founded in 2001 and has three major shareholders namely Total, GDF Suez and IMEC.
After the first years of investments in the solar cells development and an industrial expansion, the company decided in 2007 to install, on their own business estate, the first electrical production photovoltaic unit. The challenge that was given to the design team, was to create a construction for this photovoltaic production unit on the same innovative manner such as Photovoltech does with the production of their own solar cells.
The team Atelier Kempe Thill (Rotterdam) and aNNo architects (Ghent) has recently won the international competition for the renovation and expansion of the Maritime Academy in Antwerp. The project is located in the north of the historic centre of Antwerp, at the prominent bend of the river Schelde. The proposed plan of approximately 15.000m2 in total consists out of three main parts.
For years now, the Vlaamse Vereniging voor Watersport (Flemish Aquatics Association) was in dire need of a new clubhouse. The club received a 27 year concession for the lot at the end of the Oude Wenduinse Steenweg and the Bevrijdingsplein, between the former sluice dock and the harbour channel.
The basic idea for the new clubhouse is the intertwining of water, land and tourism. Not only did they focus on the layout, but also the functionality of the building, which will become a public attraction as well as a haven for hikers.

‘Hof van Busleyden’ consists of a complex of buildings, built out of brick and sandstone in replicating late-gothic style, around three external spaces: the small northern court-yard with pine trees, the central rectangular one, paved with cobblestones, and the south-oriented town garden. Since 1938 its function is the one of city museum. The building was protected as a monument.
On a unique location in the inner city of Ghent, a single family house is constructed within the walls of an old industrial building. The former forge and carpentry became the scene for a new home. Some of the existing shed roofs are teared down, some parts remain. Similarly, part of the concrete flooring is kept and partdemolished.
