The store’s opening will be paired with the 100th anniversary of Le Mont Saint Michel.
The streetscape shows a school building that takes up two building lots. This is reflected in the dual building design of the facade. The elongated windows accentuate the vertical rhythm of the street. The building integrates easily into the formal vocabulary of its surroundings.
The old farm house comprises five buildings and is located on a unique site in close proximity to the Gaasbeek Castle. What strategy needs to be developed to revive a dilapidated building without reconstructing it in a nostalgic manner? The decisive question is how such a homestead can be adapted to modern housing requirements without destroying its agricultural character.
Underneath a rampant of a fortified wall, lie the remnants of the once large complex of fortifications of Ypres, called “Kazematten”.
Built in 1680 by a mythical French Marshal as part of a large fortification project of Ypres, the “Kazematten” are known for their rich history. Following the independence of Belgium the fortification complex was mostly demolished to allow de city to expand.The “Kazematten” were spared this fate due to lack of funds.

The Centre for Group Dynamics and Institutional Analysis (CDGAI) is a benchmark in French-speaking Belgium in the field of psychosocial science-action . Dethier Architectures was chosen to design new infrastructures for the Centre. The project began in March 2002 and was completed in February 2004.
The new building was erected in the Sart-Tilman science park in Liège. It is very much is in line with the site’s urban planning philosophy, which calls for high-quality architecture in harmony with a cherished wooded landscape.
Like the existing school (a modernist volume from the 50’s) embraces the main playground, the extension is positioned in a way that areas of security arise in its inner corners. The new volume integrates the pragmatic logic of the school campus, but not without creating some witty and special interventions adding functional value.

The plot is located in a characteristic coastal neighbourhood in the dunes. The main typology here consists of detached houses. There are still a few typical fishermen’s cottages from the beginning of the last century left.
As the end of a row of houses is positioning itself a sculptural volume that is freed from under the harness of the Flemish typology. The compulsive grid behind the neighbors are hiding in this corner house broken up into unbound use of space, surrounded by a pretty pattern of window openings.
