Google Engineering Center in Belo Horizonte, Brazil by BCMF ARQUITETOS + Mach Arquitetos

Wednesday, May 1st, 2019

Article source: BCMF ARQUITETOS

Most people ignore that much of the web’s intelligence has been built in Brazil, at Google’s Belo Horizonte Engineering Center, the only one in Latin America. The new office space has over 50,000 sqf across 4 floors of a mixed-use complex in the bohemian Santa Efigênia neighborhood. The challenge was to identify strong conceptual references that would link the global company to the young capital of the traditional Minas Gerais state. The interior design integrates graphics and lighting, exploring the tension between the local culture and the Google’s culture in a subtle and sophisticated approach.

Montessori Children’s School in Belo Horizonte, Brazil by MEIUS ARCHITECTURE

Monday, November 12th, 2018

Article source: MEIUS ARCHITECTURE

“To help a child, we must provide them with an environment that allows them to develop freely” – Maria Montessori.

Taking this phrase as a design premise, we needed to serve the client in a specific way, thinking like children. Firstly it would be necessary to choose colors that could suit the children, taking into account the importance of primary colors. However, we did not want to work with saturated colors in the interior, so we adapt furniture, carpentry and coatings with a more neutral palette.

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015

Article source: ARQUITETOS ASSOCIADOS

The design for Olga Nur Restaurant is set from the definition of many ambiances with goals to enhance its openness and integration with the street and, at the same time, to promote a clear distinction between an intimate interior, with special lighting, and an informal exterior – tables by the sidewalk and sheltered spaces with fabric pergolas -, inviting people who stroll in Lourdes – where the best bars and restaurants of Belo Horizonte are placed – to come in.
