Juris Correspondente’s head office in Belo Horizonte is located on top of an old building in the central area of Belo Horizonte and has a spectacular 360 degree view of the city. From the top of this building, its privileged position allows seeing several important points of the city, such as the Serra do Curral, the Municipal Park, the City Center with its blind gables graffiti, the Santa Tereza neighborhood, as well as emblematic postmodern buildings.
Most people ignore that much of the web’s intelligence has been built in Brazil, at Google’s Belo Horizonte Engineering Center, the only one in Latin America. The new office space has over 50,000 sqf across 4 floors of a mixed-use complex in the bohemian Santa Efigênia neighborhood. The challenge was to identify strong conceptual references that would link the global company to the young capital of the traditional Minas Gerais state. The interior design integrates graphics and lighting, exploring the tension between the local culture and the Google’s culture in a subtle and sophisticated approach.

Taking this phrase as a design premise, we needed to serve the client in a specific way, thinking like children. Firstly it would be necessary to choose colors that could suit the children, taking into account the importance of primary colors. However, we did not want to work with saturated colors in the interior, so we adapt furniture, carpentry and coatings with a more neutral palette.
Early in 2015 Bruno Barros a young musician/ engineer completing his education at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. decided to create a destination studio in Belo, Horizonte. His family retained famed Brazilian architect João Diniz to design a luxury home overlooking the Minas Gerais mountain range. Barros knew it was critical for the architect and the acoustician/studio designer to begin their collaboration at the earliest planning phase to insure the studios optimal acoustic environment. Henrique Portugal, keyboard player for top Brazilian band Skank, recommended Belo Horizonte-based WSDG Walters-Storyk Design Group partner/director of design (and Latin Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer) Renato Cipriano to Barros, and the wheels were put in motion. Construction began in 2015 and the studio opened in late 2017.
This small pavilion functions as a doorway to the design and architecture exhibition ‘Casa Cor MG 2015’ in Belo Horizonte, where ‘Brazilianity’ was the proposed theme.
‘Mineral Essence’ was the concept adopted where the rusted steel, a material that refers directly to the state of Minas Gerais’ siderurgyc activities, is used how it is provided bt the industry, on metal strips that defined the project the continuos plan conforming the surfaces of the floor, wall and ceiling.
Faced with a set of pre-existences originally not articulated, the proposal for the building is that of an integrating element in order to create a global restructuring of new accesses and new connections.

Located in Nova Lima – MG, on a site of approximately 1300m² in the Crystal Valley condominium, stands a house which looks out over the valley. The idea was to build a house that had all their social and intimate area on the same floor, and the leisure facilities, a laundry area and a garage on the stilts, one floor below. The stilts release the box volume that turns to the landscape with a definitive sight, since the adjacent land is a conservation área.
The design for Olga Nur Restaurant is set from the definition of many ambiances with goals to enhance its openness and integration with the street and, at the same time, to promote a clear distinction between an intimate interior, with special lighting, and an informal exterior – tables by the sidewalk and sheltered spaces with fabric pergolas -, inviting people who stroll in Lourdes – where the best bars and restaurants of Belo Horizonte are placed – to come in.
