The office for Biome is built over an older building. The owners had found the use of the upper floor to be redundant for them and were seeking to rent it out. An additional floor was added for this purpose.
The brief called for the design a primary school on a tight site in an urban residential neighbourhood. The program comprising of classrooms, library, multipurpose space, activity rooms and various play areas demanded the building to be comprised of five floors including the basement.
The programmatic values of the school believe in breaking away from the standard scholastic teaching system. The design embraces the creative enterprise of ‘flexible learning’ to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners. The site is a land with steep sloping natural topography and several existing trees making it an ideal setting for imparting educating in a green environment. The premise is designed to be safe and close knit yet completely flexible creating an encouraging and interactive environ.
The upbeat and contemporary spirit of the AD boutique – a fabric/drapery retail store is expressed in their new flagship store nestled in the heart of Bengaluru city, India. The modest space of 650 sqft is celebrated with an accentuated idea of the arched windows with drapery, of the by-gone era which is represented in the most quintessential form, the “Arch”. The strong geometry of an arch articulated in a modern dialog creates the setting for a dramatically themed display.
The proposed urban farm comprises of 400000 sq.ft of floor space and a sprawling landscape located on the outskirts of Bangalore, the IT hub of India. Integrating organic farming with that of the built environment is the USP of this project. The concept of green and sustainable building is the basic theme on which the urban farm project has been developed.
